Same! But last year, that was the last pic of him late July. Then there was a different 7 and the 8 in the area all season. Maybe this year he will stay longer. The 8 has same exact rack three years in a row but keep growing.

Checked cams today and shot bow for first time since last October. I took 14 shots total. Pic is first 3 at 25yds.

Tons of doe/fawn pics. Bunch of small bucks, spikes, 4pt/5pt. No pics of the big 7, but got pics from 2 different cams of The 8pt I’ve been After since 2016, so I believe he was 2.5 then, 3.5 last year and now 4.5. He’s always had the smaller left side G3, but overall he gets bigger every year. A real trophy for my area (3N) if I can get him. Also got another Bobcat pic.

Ahh yes didn't see the bobcat. At a quick glance figured it was a deer walking by. Indeed a good find. Look forward to seeing you take that 8 this year or next! But with compound bow, not the cheatbow

I thought newts only lived in the water. I caught one years ago and kept it as a pet. Named him Newton

Yea the 3 cams I have are the 3 main spots I hunt. All the same property, a few hundred yards apart.

8/31:

Pouring rain but checked cams, dragged a studded tire to knock down the brush which was 5ft high, put in a new ground blind.

Two different 4pt
One 6pt
Two different spikes (one very high)
One Bobcat
Fawn climbing on doe
Didn’t both posting all of the other doe/fawn/small buck pics.

And of course my arch nemesis since 2016, a bunch of pics on both cams of The big 8pt with small G3 on left side.

Pouring rain so Only took 3 shots with bow right before dark. 19, 22, 22. All three were good. Will be back 9/15 or 9/16 for final cam check and plant winter rye with hopes it lasts till 10/1. They keep hammering the throw & grow for now

We have only ever named a couple when they have earned it.  Sounds like your "Arch enemy" earned it for a nameplate on the mount!   Good luck

I don't want to tell you what to do, but if you want winter rye to be growing on 10/1, I would not wait until 9/15 or 9/16 to plant it...   I have been planting plots for a while now and mother nature is always a factor you need to consider...   Even if you get rain you will be pushing it...   If you get no rain after planting, you certainly won't have anything there...   It may work out for you, but I have learned to always plan for the worst...    Planting now is probably perfect timing to be ready for 10/1

I was worried it would be eaten before 10/1? I could certainly plant Monday 9/3 or Sunday 9/9. As soon as these deer see any germination they hammer it.
