Spring has sprung

Thought you cold / snow guys would like a spring pic. We have been in the 80’s for two weeks. Here is a Tabebuia (tree of gold) in my back yard.

spring here is snowdrops (flowers), cardinals singing, robins first sightings

Spring "was" here on Wednesday, when the temp hit 73 degrees!  Then we got five inches of wet snow yesterday! Looking forward to the next warm-up!

Don't forget the Red Wing Blackbirds, woodcock return, and the Grackles making nests. The Maple Syrup steam is sure smelling good too.  Be looking for sheds soon.

Spring feels like its here to. I mean it's not in the 80's but its 41 degrees currently this morning, I'm starting to hear more and more birds chirping in the morning, my cardinal is back flying around from bush to bush. I cant wait to get outside tomorrow and clean up some trees. I've been stuck inside for far to long it seems like.

Have heard the redwing blackbird.  Was on Wed during that push of warm air. Good sign. And the next week's forecast is all above freezing.  Once the lake opens then really looking for spring.  Figure we have to grind out another 3 weeks.  But remember this was my work last year on March 15th....

Saw first red wing blackbirds today. A distinct song they sing too.

That’s misleading here as they never leave here. Cemetery road by Erie overpass. I’m sure you know exactly where I mean. Town dumps all the roadkill there. I think they’re too fat to fly

Giant V of snow geese just flew over our house   And cardinal is currently singing in backyard. With 5-10” of snow forecast for Friday.

Red Wing Blackbird males are back here, 2 weeks early. Early Spring?

West lol.  Was checking oil in wife’s car and heard them overhead. Distinct neat sound   Huge ( 200 birds I’d guess ) in a perfect V.

Spotted a blue jay in the yard last night. I know they don’t all fly south for the winter but I’ve never seen them around the house in the winter

I'm not really sure if this is a true sign of spring or not, but a farmer friend always told me when you start seeing skunks dead on the road the worst is over. I counted 5 on the way to work today.

I saw the same yesterday on my way to O Park,didnt count them but seemed more than normal.

  I just got back from Disney on Saturday after 6 days. I could not believe how beautiful these trees & others were!  We had 65-86* all week hated to leave & then land in Buffalo with rain, fog & 35* .  Loved the rides, the weather, but hated the crowds & lines of people!  It was my first time ever.

Forecast here for Friday just went to 6-10 inches of snow.  

I dont want it!!

I just heard there is a strong possibility of a significant lake effect event in WNY mid next week as well.
