Ill make sure to have some extra propane tanks in the blind just in case. More than welcome to take anything that steps out. I will take you up on that depending on how Saturday goes.
Culvercreek hunt club
Thank you WNY for hosting Kati and myself today. Well with just a half hour left in the regular season Kati got her very first deer using my Encore in 308. Before September she had never even shot a firearm. Now she has taken her hunter safety course, practiced at the range and spent 3-1/2 days sitting on stand. She even field dressed this deer by herself and tomorrow will be skinning and butchering it. I am so proud of her and honored to have been by her side for this. I’ll wait for her to tell the story but I will say she made a perfect shot through a very tight window at 90 yards. Just perfect.

steve863
You did an unbelievable job with these new hunters, Culver. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome for your"Field to Fork" program.
Culvercreek hunt club
I took Amy out on. Saturday afternoon hunt. She couldn’t go for a full day. We saw 3 deer. A doe and fawn fed down the hill in the thicket and stopped about 10’ from coming into the open. They turned and went back in. No shot. If I can talk her into shooting my muzzleloader I will give it another try next weekend.

I'll let her carry my Encore and I bring Dad's Traditions for a back up. We'll see what Saturday brings.Hoping to get 5 for 5 with this group.

dbHunterNY
Saw the post about Kati on facebook. Nice work Bob. Pulling for a clean sweep on Saturday for you and Amy. Fairly mild temp and not a lot of wind. Should be an alright late season sit.

Culvercreek hunt club
Well our last Field to Fork participant That hadn’t gotten a deer wanted to give it another try this weekend so Amy picked up her muzzleloader tag. She also has her antlerless tags and her regular season tag. We saw 11 deer this morning and she passed on a very easy shot on a lone fawn. About a half hour later 6 came around the corner and she showed great poise waiting for the right shot as well as waiting for the big doe to clear he other deer. Beautiful 65 yard shot with the encore muzzleloader. Very proud of you Amy and glad to have been a part of your journey. I know that muzzleloader is a handful but you did very well with it. Hope you don’t bruise. Lol.We are still on stand finishing the day so see if we can double her up.

steve863
Amazing! 5 for 5, that's a better success rate than the average hunter in the woods. And let's not forget that Culver himself guided 3 out of the 5 to success. Fantastic job to say the least!

And let's not forget that Culver himself guided 3 out of the 5 to success. Fantastic job to say the least! Thank you. I have to be honest. I am a bit sad this morning that it is over with except for our venison social dinner on January 12th. It will be nice to meet the spouses that I haven’t met yet but it has been such a great group it will be hard to top this class next year. Right now there are 10 on the waiting list but I am hesitant to go that big because I want these new hunters to have multiple outings if they need to.
