I hit all moving parts on my garage door with WD40 for the first time since the house was built 12 years ago.  And the garage door is now quieter!  Amazing.

WD 40 is great stuff!  All kinds of uses.

WD40 is a poor lubrication. Before you sacrifice me to the dogs, and call me bad names , hear me out. WD40 is NOT intended to be a lubricant as all it actually does is displace moisture. It does however have a slight lubricity to it. However, PB blaster lubricant is a better choice IMO or anything silicone based.

I use WD40 on my truck door hinges when they get squeaky ...poor choice, but they quiet instantly. I have 2 kinds of actual lubricant that function as intended, 1 is an oil squirt can and the other is PB Blaster spray lube.

My favorite is Tri-Flow.  Started using it in the print shops, we called it mechanic in a can. Use it for all my firearms too.

I think WD40 is a better penetrate then a lubricant. 

I find the best lubricant to be Fuid Film

WD40 makes a white lithium grease.  Comes in a spray can.  Excellent lube for truck door hinges and such.

Lithium grease is what I have used on car door hinges.  Would have used it on the garage door but only had wd40.  Still works for now.

I have been told by serious fishermen that if you spray WD-40 on your nightcrawlers they are irresistible to catfish. I have not tried it as it has been years since I last fished for Mr. Whiskers.

PB  blaster makes a spray for garage doors,,  can biy at Home Depot,,,

If it doesn’t move and it should wd 40 .

If it moves and it shouldn’t, duct tape or zip ties .

WD40 works great for getting black lawn tire marks off white pvc/vinyl fencing

I really thought you meant the regular WD40 at the time of my post. Since then I have seen for the first time in my life, that WD40 has some other serious spray lubricants I never thought existed. My apologies. Silicone base would be my best answer in this case.
