How many buy your license on the first day?  Been buying mine on the first day for over 20 years. No sense changing now.

I usually get my licenses a week or so before I go out for the first time of the year.... At least that's what I have always done for my fishing licenses. This is my first year buying a hunting license so I'll stck with my routine.

I have the Lifetime License and usually get the Archery and ML the 1st day they are available . I'll wait this year and get them free .

I always get mine as soon as they go on sale.This year I well have to wait until the following we are gonna be away.

According to the DEC website, the 2011-2012 licenses aren't available till August 15th.

Yeah but the lifetimes they mail out early.

11-12 tags are brown.

I got mine in the mail Monday so next Monday I will stop at the Town Clerk's office and apply for the anterless permits (at no cost) . I also got the Lifetime Card in the mail the same day .

im gunna go for it... i never buy anywhere near first day they go on sale. maybe my luck will change lol

I just go out to DECALS and order on the first day right off the computer. Then they mail it to me.

Interesting question. I love to bow hunt yet there are many countries particularly in Europe that do not allow bow hunting. Guess I'd have to travel to where it was allowed. And fish more.

  I wrote DEC a letter asking about the credit card thing for the lifetime licenses ane they said they are reissuing the credit cards for all lifetime holders and they should be out in the next 6 months.  Take that for what it is worth but i hope i get one soon.

Sadly, I never got my lifetime; so I make the yearly trip on the day they first go on sale.

Kind of a tradition after all these years, town hall and then post office for the duck stamp. Then just wait for hunting to begin. It is a good thing that salmon/steelhead migrations begin soon.

All the fall activities come together .....kind of a special year as last year I got a "Diamond" bow for the wife and she completed her courses....so she will be venturing into the woods as well...

What a romantic guy I am...last Valentine's Day we ventured to Gander Mountain and she was outfitted with a bow.....we now have a life size deer target in the back yard..

You're not the only one John. I received the plastic card, but no backtag or carcass tags yet. My son hasn't gotten anything yet. Seems strange, as it seems like we always have them before licenses go on sale. I just e-mailed the DEC this morning inquiring about it.

Lifetime license and tags came in the mail today. I still haven't got my nifty credit card style license. This is the third year. I feel slighted .....

My lifetime license came on Saturday.  What is this credit card thing you all speak of?  I've never gotten anything like that.
