I just dropped and broke my Nikon prostaff 7 10x40 binocular's.I've had them for years and really have no complaints.I was looking at the Nikon Monarch 5's in 10x40.Anyone have a pair or a recommendation for a decent pair of bino's in the $300-400 range?

I'd send then in to nikon and see what they say about cost to repair.

Pretty sure Nikon has a no fault warranty. Send them in....

yep....call Nikon. Good warranty service. If looking to replace, check out Leupolds. I have a pair of Cascades (pretty sure that was the name) about 300 bucks or so but darn nice binoculars and great warranty service...best part about it is that other than accidents, it is unlikely you will ever need it!

I have the leupold bx4 pro guide.   Owned both Zeiss conquest and vortex vipers at the same time.  I could tell no difference in trying all 3 in different hunting situations so I sold the vortex and zeiss.  Best part was I bought the leupold on sale brand new for $300.   I think they normally ran $600 or so but there was a lot on sale post season a few years ago.  That happens when manufacturers come out with a new model.  Bought a zeiss conquest scope for $300 when the conquest 5 came out.  My advice, look at quality manufacturers and see if you can steal a new pair of good binos for 1/2 price.

I had Nikon 10x 32 for years and they started to break (rubber cladding was breaking off) so I  sent them to Nikon and they gave me a credit to use towards a new pair as they no longer make the 10x 32. I picked up the Monarch 5, 10x 40 and they are great. Not as good as some German glass but for the $$$ you can't beat Nikon. And their customer service is outstanding!

I have the Leupold Alpines a little heavy but excellent value , I bought them after leaving my Leupold Yosemite’s on a mountain in Colorado ..

Thanks guys it took a while but i got through to there warranty department.The guy said send it in the most would cost is $18 to ship it back.There right on long island so i can drop them off.
