Finally got into some fish today. Unfortunately they where out of reach for my fly cast. They where hitting a big yellow/black rooster tail they wouldn’t hit anything else. Had a blast until I snagged a stick floating by and lost the lure. I kept two for lunch tomorrow.

Question for the fly guys if there hitting a one inch rooster tail would a yellow streamer work?

I think they will hit a streamer or a wooly bugger for sure

Tried a smaller stream today. Three hours nothing it was such a beautiful stream with ripraps and pools. Kinda disappointing no fish. Hit the creek I was fishing the other day on my way home and caught two brown trout on a yellow rooster tail.

Finally... wasn't huge. Just legal at 27.75".  Cooking it up tomorrow.  We had a bunch of runs, but lost them. This was the only fish in the boat, other than bait fish.
