  1. Can't be hammening. members on here have said they will never come to confiscate your guns so we must be imagining this. Now how likely is a person that is in need of this type of treatment going to be to seek it?

  4. It's a free country. You're free to do what ever they let you do. And they don't want to let you own 90% of the guns you currently own. They will soon be coming for those 90%, while they keep telling you they are not infringing on your 2nd Amendment rights! Gun owners that don't believe it, or don't join the NRA, are the ones who are to blame for it.

  5. County clerks office will have info on who owns it. Unless it is unmarked public land, you have already trespassed in getting those pictures. Not being posted is not an invitation. I go by a simple rule - if I don't have permission, I don't go.

  7. Thanks all - pretty good day. Telling everyone I'm 72 (rather than 62). They tell me how good I look for my age.

  8. I may be the odd one but holes through paper @ 40 yrds. tells the truth. Bottom line is.... you have to take the time and $$$ and shoot several loads to see what works best for you and to know realistically how far you can effectively kill a bird. I've heard of guys killing birds out to 60 yrds. they are either very lucky or their guns are much more effective than what i shoot.

  10. all land is owned by someone, public lands are almost always properly marked..but I know of instances where private owners like to remove public land signs to keep people off......DEC has a very good interactive map.

  11. From the County Clerk's office. Start with the closest address you can identify on the road and if possible determine the distance from that property to the one you want to knwo about. It isn't that hard to do.

  12. if you dont know who the owner is.. stay away.. pretty simple. Gotta put some effort in and research who owns it and try to make contact. If you have exhausted all avenues and are at a roadblock with, search for a new spot. its not worth the trouble associated with trespassing with a weapon

  13. I had to pull over the other night on my way home from work to take a picture of this flock of turkeys...Sorry the picture isn't better but they were 300 yards from the road and I took it with my phone...There were more birds off to the left that I couldn't get in the picture!!...I sure wish I could hunt this place!!!

  14. The value of scouting Feb-April cannot be understated. I just don't get guys who want to target big bucks yet don't scout at that time of year - it's mind boggling. I bet I put in more time scouting at that time of year than what I do in a treestand. Once green-up hits, you lose that ability to find what you need.

  15. I try to get out scouting at least once a week this time of year. I'll be moving 2 stands slightly, adding a new stand, rotating trail cameras, more scouting. April and May are great times to be in the woods. I'll pull my cameras at the end of April and put them back out in late July. Early Sept is time put up other stands. >>>>------------>

  18. I think I'll watch a see how the show is rather than jump to conclusions. It is soooo not my style of hunting, but might still be entertaining.. from what I remember that's all television shows are suppose to be.. entertainment.

  20. tax maps are the way to go, most have an overhead of the town with boundries roughley laid out and the tax number in them. then its just a matter of looking up the number for the owner's address. If you don't own it someone does! take the time to figure it out and ask.. lots of people just want to know who's there and best to ask far away from any open seasons...

  21. county clerks website. look for tax maps. Zillow is also a good source but not so much for larger plots.

  22. Check Google Maps. It will show you where the public land is.

  23. Irregardless to the yote. I guess my point would be if I was 12 and learning the ropes of hunting this thread would make me think that its ok to shoot a yote out of season and if it's ok to do that why not a deer and so on... Leads to bad hunting and life morals in a way. Just a bad look. But hey thats just me. I guess. This thread should just be deleted. Lol..
