I got a chance to finish up my 2014 turkey fan and wing display today! As you all probably know by now, I like my stuff looking a little rough and rustic instead of that fine finished look, so I decided to tear apart an old twisted stump for my plaque wood. The entire process went surprisingly smooth except for one accidental spill while the Borax was still drying things out. Had to make an emergency run for more but the best I could come up with was Boric Acid powder...... close enough, lol! Anyhow, here's what I came up with. The pot call and striker had nothing to do with killing this gobbler. I wasn't real happy with that call so I'm glad I found a use for it so I have an excuse to get a new one next spring!4 points

It's easy. Governor Crow-mo got the safe-lawn act passed, requiring all grubs to register their lawn-assault weapons. He is now sending out his crow-mo enforcers to lawns everywhere. Due to registration documents, they know exactly where to find each grub.2 points

It's already here. What's really funny, is the fact that so-called "liberals" are leading the charge to curtail as much of our personal freedoms as possible by "Big- government" intervention. Went into their Tonawanda store last week to see what changes had been done. The one thing that impressed me the most , as a sportman was the firearms section. Firearms nearly across the entire back wall. Shelves of ammo to accompany their stock. The archery section was still the "same old Gander Mountain." It may of even shrunk some. One would think this store should of improved tremendously ,since the opening of Cabelas in only a few months away. Maybe stock will increase as the season nears.1 point

hollow points are used not only because they're effective at killing people, but also because they fragment on impact, reducing the chances of the bullet exiting the body or passing through walls, etc.....full metal jackets are a poor choice for Law Enforcement work.1 point

"A very "Limited" number of IRS agents (under the authority of the Department of the Treasury (mainly during Prohibition to go after gangsters like Al Capone)" False, the IRS has had Special Agents that investigate fraud for years. I know of no SA's that are not armed. "Other agencies have been created and they are also allowed to carry and possess firearms. They are: Park Rangers The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms The Drug Enforcement Agency The Border Patrol Immigration and Nationalization Service The Department of Homeland Security" The Border Patrol is "Homeland Security" There is no such agency as "Immigration and Nationalization Service" "Now within the last six years (under President Barack Hussein Obama Jr.) agencies that have been recently armed are: IRS BLM USDA EPA" IRS, already explained. BLM has had armed officers agents. They usually carry an m-4 as well because they usually work alone, and some are stationed near the border. USDA has had SA's as long as I can remember. EPA, not sure. " and hollow-point ammunition for?" Hmm, that one is self explanatory. FMJ are better for LE? Think not.1 point

A rare, unique, one of a kind mount that looks very nice. I hope that fine mount will hang in a nice area. No sticking in the barn, LOL. I'm curious as to all those wing feathers. They all came off one turkey? Just never realized they had so many.1 point

Thinking the next and last time I will go to the one in Tonawanda is their going out of business sale in mid August. I have never been in a store with more things that you cannot figure out the price of. Ugh. It was a great store the first year....been downhill since and the staff I dealt with must pinch hit with the Tops next store because they didn't know a thing...1 point

Makes no sense that half the state has to wear back tags and the other half doesn't... I can't think of a good reason why wearing a back tag in the southern zone is any different than wearing it in the north. I always have it, but never wear it. For some reason though I have a gazillion of those pin on tag holders in camo and blaze orange... not sure why I have them or why I keep them.1 point

I see we have gathered a few extra defeatist quitters in my absence... still trying like hell to convince the group that waving the white flag is the way to go... yep.. that ought to teach 'em... First they tell us how bad the politics is, then how stupid the people are, then how smart they are for figuring out how bad and stupid everyone is... then tell us how important it is to do nothing about any of it. Now there is a plan!!1 point

I've been to the one in PA a number of times and it's a great place to visit. I can imagine the traffic to the new one in Woodbury will be a nightmare, so I'll probably continue to mail order instead. You get the stuff in a couple of days, so why would fight the ridiculous traffic, plus they don't always have what's in the catalogs in the stores. There will be a downside to having Cabelas doing business in NYS also. Unless they strike some sort of deal with the state, now we will be charged sales tax on mail orders, since Cabelas has an established business within the state. Not looking forward to that.1 point
