I haven't seen any bucks larger than a spike or small 4 point yet this year and was getting worried about the "local inventory". This was the first pic on last night's card pull. Happy to see him! I'm fairly sure that this is the same one I've been watching for the third year now. We have a bit of history. See you in the fall, big boy!. BTW, the pic was from 7/11, so he's still growing a bit since this pic.12 points

Just thought to share with all you baseball fans and also because im a proud dad. Heres my 12 yr. Old son who was chosen based upon his ability and grades to attend a clinic with only 17 other kids throughout NY . Clinic was held at LIU, kids spent 4 hours being trained by Hideki Matsui "Godzilla". heres a couple pictures of my boy pitching to Hideki, he also hit off of Hideki, was also interviewed by a japanese new station, and at the end Hideki signed baseballs for the kids. Last picture is of my 8 yr old who i brought along to watch. They both play travel baseball and are both lefties, so proud of them both and a great experience for all.3 points

First arrow of the year ! 25 paces , that's how I measure and guess distances . Walk the dog guess at driveways , mailboxes the whole walk . Anywho very pleased with shot although my bow shoulder hurt quite a bit . Can't see me shooting each day in this thread as I never ever shoot each day to begin with . Great idea though !3 points

Not at all. I can even shoot my traditional bows with it on and they are much longer requiring greater clearance. I haven't tried all of the others, but I would have a hard time imagining any improvement on the FHF. Easy to put on, doesn't tangle, stays close to the chest, very adjustable for size. I don't wear it much hunting just because where I hunt, binos arent really needed, but I like having the option.3 points

I drove up to the property this morning to do some mowing on my food plots. About half a mile before I got there , a sow bear and four cubs crossed the road in front of me. When I drove the tractor and mower up to the food plot, there was a flock of turkeys in the field, probably about a dozen. They ran and flew out before I could get a full count, but there were 3 or 4 adults and about 7 or 8 pheasant sized poults. It was obvious what they were there for..The field was FULL of grasshoppers and other insects.2 points

Guy who I used to play a lot of competitive golf with son qualified for The Porter Cup . He shot 66 a few weeks back to get in. Held at Niagara Falls CC every year. Phil Micklelsin amongst a lot of others have played in this event before becoming pro. Today's field had the runner up in The Canadian Open last week , second place at Amateur losing to De Chambleau , mostly college kids that should be your worthy soon. My guy shot 72. Gavin Hall a lefty just made the turn on front 9 at 5 under. These kids can play. 3 more rounds to go. I can't loop as we're headed to Ithaca for the remainder of the week. 86 and sunny out , lots of water to drink but I'm whooped2 points

Hey - first post. I know a little about ratting as I have a show in development following a NorCal group that uses dogs to eradicate rodents on organic farms where it's illegal to use poison. This shot has about 300 rats after about 3 hours of work. Heading down there on the weekend to shoot another hunt. A lot of hard work ripping apart old barns, then exploding action with rats, dogs and people running everywhere. At the end: dead rats, tired dogs and grateful farmers.2 points

Bubba and Cooter are out fishing. Bubba says " I think I'm gonna have to get a divorce. My wife hasn't spoke to me in two months. " Cooter replies " You better hang onto her.. A woman like that is hard to find . "2 points

tree sets and buckets, though even with 55s you'll catch coon and skunks. easiest way to target only fisher is to make tree sets as straight up as you care to, the more slope the better your chances of catching bobcat the down side is most fisher contrary to urban legend stay on the ground not in the trees so you will miss a lot, even with cubbies and buckets sometimes they play on them and don't go in, so shrug and smile and wait some more. Can you use cage traps in NY ?2 points

Both my daughters love the .410 even after moving up to my .20 ga, It provided them with a sense of control and ease with handling it. My oldest daughter will usually shoots a round or two of skeet with the .410 and does well. I think the .410 is a tough gun to hit anything with sometimes but it builds handling confidence.2 points

Well, this 'house warming' has gotten out of hand thanks to the g/f. Supposed to be max 20 people. Pfft! Looking at close to 50 from all the people she invited. Changed the menu. Just box burgers for everyone.2 points

I called it the hunter but mine is actually the classics. Differences being straight comb (better cheek weld) and no open sights since there is no point having open sights on this long range shooter. Sorry for the mistake on model name. That said, for everyone (EXCEPT LAW) see photos. Note that I am not great at catching wood grain in photos but this stock is really nice. I ask eurooptic to send me photos of the five they had in stock and selected the best: there is one very slight indentation that I am sure could be steamed out. Was able to catch it at this angle (lower corner) PYGMY, This gun is calling you!2 points

Yeah, Stoney, I think you are right. Last year I saw a bear on the property with 3 cubs. I'm getting bears on the trailcams nearly every check now.2 points

At this point Trump could grow a set of horns and garner a split tongue and I would still vote for him. If I thought that evil "Beouch" Hillary wouldn't get elected. In fact I'll say it...I wouldn't overt my eyes if she ,wearing one of those K-Mart looking pant suits she wears, were to get too close to and open flame and went up in a blaze of glory,as it were.... phewww...I feel better...2 points

When I first started hunting, it seemed impossible to obtain permission to hunt private property. I did obtain permission on one property 30+ yrs ago, in which I eventually purchased most of it when the landowner ran into money problems. Built a house there 10 yrs ago and live there now. There is no way that I'd open my land to others. I scrimped, saved, and did without to make it work, and now my taxes are outrageous, but it's what I have to do to have land to hunt, and live the lifestyle I prefer.. It doesn't make sense to have the investment I made turned into a free for all. That said, I mostly hunt deer and just dabble in turkey, and I do have a couple of younger guys and their father hunt coyotes and a do a little turkey hunting with my permission. I've also let them deer hunt the rare years that we tag out. I do that because I remember what it was like asking permission when I had no place to hunt. I wanted to "give back". But open it up to anyone? No way.1 point
