  1. I still have to run the numbers but im thinking mid 80’s. The blued 29-2 is an early 70’s. With a long barrel shooting full house magnums is actually quite manageable.
  2. Unfortunately they are almost impossible to replace these days
  3. The reliability of the bar is the biggest selling point. They generally shoot well with a variety of bullet weights. Both guns are heavy.
  4. My local enabler waved this beautiful piece of art in front of my face the other day. Its a S&W 29-3 .44 magnum in nickel. This stunning revolver sports a long 8 3/8 inch barrel. Perfect for those long shots on the farm at steel targets. I paid a very very good price for the gun as it needed a little tlc. After many many glasses of whiskey and an entire t shirt i got a decent polish it the gun using mothers mag polish. Hard to beat a classic smith with the target hammer, trigger and grip package. (smith and wesson calls them stocks not grips) These quality pieces are getting increasingly harder to acquire. My apologies for the crappy pictures, ill also include a pic of my blued 29-2 for comparison/ your enjoyment.
  5. Over priced for that gun. In you are willing to spend a grand or more look at the browning BAR. Thank me later.
  6. Sigh. I want a new truck so bad. I dig the color combo. Nice choice
  7. I have had a pair for over ten years. Sole is solid. The rest is a mess lol. Try out dry shod boots.
  8. Nice. Yearly fun around here on the farm. Materials aren’t getting any cheaper. Dont cheap out on fertilizer. Maintenance is cheaper and easier that playing catch up.
  9. I am looking for some new cheap ice fishing bibs. Good thought. Ill look in newark tomorrow on my way by.
  10. Yeah….uh huh…..for the “kids” uh huh….
  11. Wind chill is the worst. 0 degrees with no wind and sun isnt bad actually. Especially with a little Jameson in the bib pocket to keep me toasty. I have always wanted to bring out a little grill out in the ice, eat as we catch.
  12. Oh i bet! I think ill haul out the 20 pounder for sure.
  13. Sounds like a good morning nonetheless. Im going out on sodus bay Saturday. Will be sub zero. cant wait haha
  14. Hard to find ammo. I mostly shoot .38/.357 mag so i feel your pain. Those who is think revolvers are antiquated haven’t tried to buy one or ammo recently. Prices are higher than most anything else. Im considering a .45acp revolver just to mix things up.
  15. Few jumbos from last weekend. Big deal to catch perch over a foot in my book. My in laws were telling me Honeoye lake has 6+ inches of ice. Anyone hear of people fishing there yet?

    Ice time?

Oh i bet! I haven’t ice fished there yet. Plenty of times by boat. No tip up action today. We did get a nice 24 inch pike yesterday however. It will be nice when we get some ice closer to home at sodus and port bay.

    Ice time?

Filled the cooler out on Chippewa. The wife caught a few absolute giant jack perch. Biggest i have seen maybe ever. I’ll measure a few tomorrow. We weighed one that was over 2 pounds. Little white and yellow tungsten jig topped with a minnow. They hammered it all day mostly.
  18. Couldn’t have said it better myself. You saved me the time thanks!
  19. Any smith and wesson revolver. Here are a few i took out for cleaning.
