So true!

Something wrong with her to attempt this in that weather.

It amazes me how they can survive these brutal winters!

Sad day for sure. I always remember his excitement when he shot a really nice buck. (I think it was in the second video they put out.) I was happy to see they get as much excitement out of it as many of us do even after taking so many. RIP Lane Benoit we will miss you dearly!!!

I had to go out and shoot today. With all the layers, wind, glare and frostbite it was hard. I only lasted 3 rounds and 24 arrows, hands cold with light gloves. It is brutal with the wind.

Very nice!

A predator might have chased her. I think they know predators do not like human contact. It could explain her anxiousness and staying by the house. Good luck!

Solo is fun but having a partner is golden. Good luck Defrazzle.

Hitler Hunts in NY and Visits the Forum
NFA-ADK replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in General Chit Chat
Very funny! I could not stop laughing! -
As long as it shoots the same as your field tip you should be ok with any of them.

I was on the ground but that was funny!

This was the highlight of my last day. After the big gust of wind a squirrel falls out of the tree, (He forgot his gloves.) then he pays me a visit. He was about a foot above my head. "Don't jump on me!!!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI95EUqQtDc&feature=youtu.be

It sure is a workout!

I said AR will not do anything for most hunters who want a trophy to fall in there lap. He said a one buck only would help. I said help what, he said get him a easy trophy. Easy LOL, I said, " Maybe if you got out of your tree stand and actually hunted you might have some chance at getting a real trophy." And that's when the fight started.
-
Very nice, that is a great accomplishment, best of luck to him!
-
Nice pictures, thanks for sharing!

Another Suffolk Archer scores!!! Congrats Joe on a real dandy of a buck!

Looks like LI will miss most of it, be safe! We got lucky with some warm weather, 34-36 that helped melt some snow but not very much. Mostly freezing rain for us from what I hear.

Glade your OK! Angel watching over you that night.

So many idiots so few ECO's! He shot a moose!!! Unreal. Way to many driving with loaded guns and shooting from the vehicles. I take these reports with a grain of salt as some officers write tickets for anything to make them look good. Most are valid but some get caught in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

Just because you do something for 20 or 30 years does not make you an expert but if you dive in head first and consistently gain knowledge on the subject year after year you tend to become an expert in that field. This comes from reading, watching videos and most importantly going afield and applying that knowledge with your gain experience and insight. I know many people who consider themselves experts that are not. Most experts do not need the tittle because they know where they stand. EX: In my camp a few of my buddies consider me the expert. Do I proclaim that tittle, hell NO! But as the one who has engulfed myself in deer hunting and they have been engulfed in family it is only natural. (I spend more time in the woods with deer and study the subject more then all 8 hunting friends do combined.) The ones that think I have the expert tittle know this, hence to them I am the expert. Being an expert does not mean you know everything,(Thanks Belo, I could not have said it any better) it means you are very knowledgeable on the subject, more than most casual people tend to be. Moon phase is a perfect example of how "Experts" can disagree. Take what you do for a living as an example: I use to be an auto tech. You start as a C tech, after 1-3 years you become a B tech and after another 10 years or so you become and A tech. Computers are the same way you have level 1-2-3, the top levels are considered experts even if they do not have the tittle. Just because someone is an expert does not make them right. Getting back to Moon phase. So many of us agree with this and just as many disagree, I guess if you can verify something then in your mind that is proof and the other experts must be wrong. But they are still experts... My buddy who hunts LI almost exclusively is an expert at residential hunting. He has killed hundreds of deer but he is not an expert on deer hunting in general. This type of expertise is in a particularly narrow area. Put him upstate where the trails are not beaten down to dirt and put him on the ground and he would be at a loss on how to hunt. Yet he is still an expert. Go figure!

That was an unreal morning on the 18th of January (Video was posted the day after). I was going to a 3D shoot at Suffolk archers and was sliding all over the place. The black ice was everywhere. My buddy was doing 70 on the LIE when I informed him to slow down. Lucky I caught him before he hit the really bad areas. We got lucky with rain on the island and where able to walk the course at about 10:30. Rained cats and dogs but it was a fun shoot!
