My daughter is graduating from Daemen College on May 20th. the ceremony is at Kleinhans Music Hall (Downtown) . We want to go to dinner after the graduation.. It ends around 8:30pm, so would like to try to find somewhere near by. Looking for nice, but not "fancy". Also looking for someplace that won't break the bank, any ideas would be greatly appreciate. Thx!

I own a 35 HP... They are great machines.. very reliable and built to last.. Also pretty easy to work on for someone that does not a ton about diesel,etc... I also have a New Holland that is when a year or 2 of being the same age and in a similar HP.. The power difference, especially with the PTO is night and day... I don't dislike the New Holland, but the Kubota is far superior.

Breaking ground what to use?

In my opinion, there is no way that the tool in the picture was able to turn over the ground the way it is depicted in the picture. There is no way it could be heavy enough to do that. I do all my work with a 60 inch PTO Tiller, so that is my only reference point. Call me skeptical, but it takes some weight and HP to get the ground turned over. -
I waited all day to put eyes on a National Grid truck and that never happened.. Town came thru and cleaned up the 10+ trees laying across the road.. I think it is going to be a couple more days.. Thanks good for the gas fireplace!!

there is a place in Nunda that rents a tractor and tiller... Seem like good guys and fairly reasonable. You can probably google it, but if you need the name, I am sure I can track it down

pepperoni and sausage... my favorite... that is one good looking pie!

My heart goes out to you and your family.. Such tough times... I have a English Springer that is going on 11 and has really "slowed down" the past year. He is always at my side and follows me everywhere. I can't imagine coming home from work and him not greeting me at the door. Take care and cherish the great memories.. Tom

Beautiful buck and nice taxidermy work... It goes to show how big a 135" buck really is... I laugh sometimes how often people talk these days about 145" or 155" deer.. the reality is that there are not that many of them out there and 135" is a try giant.. Very well done!!

you are hunting new land... it takes time to learn the land and learn the movement.. One of the biggest things I have learned on my property over 10 years is that where they are and where they move in September is not where they are and where they move in November/December -
I had a friend who had his son some out in the field with us rabbit hunting from a very young age.. He had him carry a stick that he told him was supposed to be a gun.. He had him treat the stick like a gun and used it to tech him where the muzzle was pointed at all times. It is something her learned from his father.. I thought that was a great learning technique and something a lot of people could use before a real firearm ever goes into their hands. It is so sad when accidents like these happen... you can not "undo" a mistake when it comes to firearms

yea, when I first bought my property 12 years ago I figured I would not kill any does and the deer population would flourish.. I was wrong.. For the past 6 or 7 years we try to fill every doe tag we get (even if we donate the deer to needy families) and it seems to make a huge difference. Ratios are better and size and health of deer has improved noticeably (and the bigger bucks are much bigger).

just out of curiosity, do they issue doe permits in your area?

The chopper we saw was blue, so maybe just a coincidence
-
yeah, first one was right around the corner from my camp... helicopter went over head mid morning, wondering now if it was mercy flight..

I was just discussing with a friend of mine.. there was something magical about the Saturday and Sunday leading up to a Monday opener.. things just don't seem the same anymore.. My vote would be to go back to the Monday opener. I also used to like the no hunting on Sunday

during gun season, I love using the wind to my advantage to get into places I normally would not be able to go without chasing out everything that lives there.. Try still hunting into some thick cover and finding a spot where it opens up a bit and put your back against a tree... you will sometimes be amazed at how much movement there is

....and closed on 10/28... I think that is earlier than prior years.. Always remember it running until the day before gun season opened. -

yes, tremendous effort... bittersweet, but at least you know the outcome and have a great rack to show for it.. 95% of the people out there would never have gone to the lengths you did.. Well done!!
