  1. more coin but I like the bigger ones...lol https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/guide-gear-18-jumbo-ladder-tree-stand?a=681071
  2. at 5 years old I was following my father in the small game woods. Not sure if it was becasue I was smaller, but it sure seemed like the snows were earlier and much much deeper back then. He grew up hunting with his brothers and father. These trips out at 5 were mostly rabbit with beagles. The rule always was from 5 to 12, "If I pick my foot up and step forward with my right foot, your right foot goes into my track" I learned a lot 2' behind him and sharing that with him, my two uncle, my cousin and a few of their life long friends are some of the fondest moments in my memories. There was some hunting that I did learn on my own becasue he never cared to really get into it. Bow hunting, waterfowl hunting and the upland hunting when I had my Springer. He did go with me every once and a while but he was all about deer hunting with a gun and shooting rabbits, snowshoes, grouse and squirrels.
  3. take a peak at a few of these. They have seats that fit a loc on style, ladder stand, hammock seats and even 2 man https://slumperseats.com/
  4. It will be just like a sponge. You are on target with how to handle it. There are some very good aftermarket seats out there.
  5. But the Dilophosaurus would be more on point. I think they made that one a lot smaller than it would have been in the movie. If you guys are ever out in Connecticut and can swing by the dinosaur museum, it is worth it. I actually had a building delayed becasue of the foot prints in the rock we exposed. Was pretty cool to talk to the Paleontologists.
  6. works great. Same sideways shit as with everything else on here...lol
  7. I'd like to know who the preppers are and what they would have to do with this?
  8. I guess I can see the logic in his question. if it is about the meet and young meat so the quality is there. It would seem the logical thing to do would be not to pass a deer up. Fill you tags with the young deer as soon as the opportunity presented itself and be done with it. If you want to be in the woods observing and observing the woods then a deer gun is not required to do that. You could actually be carrying a different gun and small game hunting or just sitting, enjoying and observing. There is no benefit in dragging out the season.
  9. And in areas where the 1.5 year old 6 pointer isn't an exception they can utilize a 4 point on a side rule like the one plan did propose.
  10. I can't say I have not had bad or tough venison but I can say, I have never had "bad" or tough venison from any deer I have handled and cut up myself.
  11. I get it Grow. I was commenting to the other comments that actual landfills were burying trash as well. I was just pointing out how that is managed differently than a private bury site.
  12. The likelihood that those bucks that make it into their second year are tougher to take and have a better chance to grow further. Also in the first two years the bulk of the nutrition goes to building body as they grow. SO once they hit that 2nd year rack (or better yet their 3rd). more nutrition can be spent on the antlers. The older bucks will put up with the rigors of the rut better than the younger bucks. I've watched 1-1/2 year old bucks running does will before they were ready to breed. They don't get the process yet. Kind of like frat boys at a bar on Friday night at 9 pm. LOL. With an over abundance of does and multiple rutting periods it can really take a draw down on all the bucks. A more natural age structure with a better buck to doe ratio is better for the herd overall.
  13. The heck with the rack. That body doesn't have the normal summer thin look does it. He is a beefy one for sure. Do you have any pics of him with full body?
  14. I am so writing that line down. I might screw with someone just so I get a chance to use it.
  15. There are states that have laws protecting bigfoot too.
  16. Whole different animal. Clay layers impermeable to liquids, membrane liners, observation and monitor wells. It really is a science and very expensive to do right. That is one reason the big push on the recycling, to avoind unneeded landfill volume
  17. My tomatoes are less than stellar but the spaghetti squash, cucumbers and eggplant are growing like weeds
  18. I think they call that a marriage license and Alimony
  19. unfortunately (or fortunately) he tested the shot with a book and used the cliff notes version for the video
