Kitchen floor help
Culvercreek hunt club replied to diplomat019's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I'd scratch out an almost full depth area and you can regrout. Feathering a little in on top won't hold. Oh and don't be heart broken if it pops out again. It usually pops for a reason. -

Honestly, since it is ceramic I would have them do the underlayment. Make them be responsible for it. Might avoid adders like flash patching to level and true it up. Big tiles or small? The bigger the tile the truer and stiffer it all needs to be. (cue Pygmy...lol) -

when you say you are getting "new tiles" installed, what type of "tiles" are you getting put down? -
Congrats!!! Hope everyone is doing well

i helped a very good friend of mine put in about a 4 acre pond. It's about 18' deep in the deepest end. It's was stocked with Channel Cats, perch and walleyes. I wouldn't have believed it unless I had fished it myself since. It's been in for over 10 years and the perch and "eyes" are breeding in the pond. I've never caught a small cat in there so I have no clue on them.

I just shake my head when I hear about guys (hunters) scheduling weddings and births in the fall!!! LOL.

You are right. but think about running game with dogs. The game and the dogs don't slow down the read the posted signs. The complaints about the dog hunters ARE trespassing complaints.

Thank you Nick. I will give it a try like that. I've never heard that before.

Putting a dent in terrorism
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It's on a county by county basis. Many counties don't require it. -
The antis are not my concern. It is the fence sitters in the middle that make up a majority of the population. Bottom line, actions like the one you are putting on a pedestal make hunters look bad to that segment of the population. I don't think hunting will be going anywhere soon, just for the reasons you listed. I can see it becoming so restrictive and over regulated that is is a real PITA to take part in. You say they were small crumbs. I guess they would be if you didn't take part in that portion of the sport.

Late Soybeans
Culvercreek hunt club replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
cage a section in so you can see what it would have been like...lol You have time. Farmers around me just got theirs in about 2 weeks ago. -
When New Jersey lost their bear hunting is was legal. When California lost it's mountain lion hunting it was legal. Legal and illegal means nothing in his points. The antis are vocal and much more so than the hunting population. The ones on the fence are the ones most influenced by anything they deem offensive.

In all fairness in am certain that Curmudgeon's comment was an illustration that mirrors your and my opinions on it. That they all should have some level of respect. I take coyotes when the opportunity presents itself, without hesitation. I don't hate them for being what they are. They are predators.

I am not a trapper but I don't see it as worse or the same as. Traps are checked daily. I can't imagine the whole leg chewing thing takes place in that short of a duration. The difference in a bullet or even an arrow for me is I have a lot higher certainty when in control of the shot. when that stuff blows up you ca't say what is going to happen. I feel confident when I squeeze the trigger that is will be a humane kill. (it doesn't always work out like that we all know).

They are still an animal. I couldn't bring myself to do that.

I was on Cayuga June 3rd. The bait shop on the south end has live sawbellies in stock. We hooked them with a threaded double hook, 4' leader followed by a bead and a 3/4 ounce egg sinker. Onto the bottom in about 80-90' of water. Fished open bail with line under a rubber band around the handle so the fish can run. we had 5 on and only landed 2. Water was really rough.

Nick, What kind of casings are taking a week to soften for you? I've used non edible and collagen as well as natural pig casings and never had to do that

Honestly Grizz, when I read Wooly's post I didn't read any attitude into it. I guess that is the problem with the written word in a setting like this. We all hear what we want to hear or expect to hear, no necessarily how it was meant. I've seen more than one blow up on here over things like this. -
You commented before I posted my edit. I'd suggest looking at the 800,000 year EPICA data and see the cycles of not only temps but CO2 ,NO and Methane levels. They about mirror depending on the core locations. It also ties about perfectly to the ice ages that have taken place. With more abrupt cycles than we are currently in.

You can't see how increasing energy cost, whether it be fossil fuels or subsidizing alternative energy is redistribution? The accord allowing other nations that produce products to stay in the fossil game longer than us isn't redistribution? making a lesser nation more cost competitive? I see you did grab on the ice age portion but never addressed the previous cycles in earths history. What great evil caused those? I'd suggest looking at the 800,000 year EPICA data and see the cycles of not only temps but CO2 ,NO and Methane levels. They about mirror depending on the core locations. It also ties about perfectly to the ice ages that have taken place. With more abrupt cycles than we are currently in.

Belo, I see very few that think there is no warming of the earth. The cause is what I see debated to a greater extent. That is where I see the divide AND what the true objective of the accord really was. Fist off it WAS a redistribution of wealth. It was a bad deal for the economy of the US. I don't get why folks are now upset with him pulling out. He said he was going to do it and he did. I guess the public isn't use to a politician doing what they say they would. You have a degree in this and I am sure are much better versed than I am, but the history of the earth is written in climate cycles. Some that were a greater deltas in shorter time frames than we are experiencing now. Most before the modern humans even walked the earth. I remember back in elementary school (a long long time ago) there was a crisis that had the news all a buzz and all the scientists were convinced of the facts. They were predicting how we were going to cause a new ice age. So these same scientists that can look at history and current data and predict what is going to happen in 2 or 3 or 4 generations have the same information at their finger tips and cant predict this weekends weather with any certainty. I know I know weather vs climate. macro vs micro. blah blah blah.
