Does only for the first 2 weeks. Thoughts?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to NonTypical's topic in Region 1
Well just pick up my license last night. I guess I won't even be hunting in the my area the first week I can take a buck. Screw them. I am heading up north to muzzleloader hunt. Then probably rifle hunting up North the following weekend. Will probably be October 31st before I climb into a southern zone bow stand this year. -
agreed. but just so everyone is clear. picking up a road killed fox in season and if you have a license to possess...is perfectly legal.
-
I would recommend either of these. They go out of Oak Orchard Creek. (Point Breeze) Reel Excitement Charters Capt. Bob Songin Rigger Us Charters Capt. John Polandick
-
Nicky, Where do you want to go out of? What area of the lake?
-
had you been practicing with your broadheads on prior to the season?
-
must have been out of season since fox don't required "tagging"?
-
I believe you actually have to make a copy of the tag and have it with BOTH. Technically if you give packages of venison away a copy of the tag is supposed to accompany that as well.

Victor Bass Pro shop still on track
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Doc's topic in General Chit Chat
The Victor Bass Pro is going to be one of their flagship super stores. (at least that is the info I have heard) . The ones with the inside lake with the boats on it an such. -
Funny how people are creatures of habit. google the screen name and West Seneca. 28 years old. drives a jeep on the Jeep Forum. On the Erie County pistol permit board he applied for permit in 2010 (hope he got denied)..lol

Which part of NY produces the biggest deer?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to mattman77's topic in Deer Hunting
Best bet is to look at harvest reports and publications like the Big buck club -

Scoped Deer Gun For You, YES OR NO??
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Deer Hunting
plain bead on my first shotgun. From there every gun I have that is used for deer has glass. The only gun I have that still has open sights is my '94. 30/30. it has a fixed 4 but it is mounted off center to allow casing ejection. this allows use of iron sights if you wish. I never have though. -
I do not believe it is persimmon. I have seen them before and the name escapes me. I will tell you there are no edible tomato looking wild vines in the lower 48. In some states they have nightshade and that is poisonous.

Buy Land - Then what?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to BizCT's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Biz, what does that doo to you for recovery then? -
VJP, ever have an brothers or sister growing up? I did. it was like a WWE match as kids. knock down and drag outs. 3 seconds after an argument or disagreement like that I would have stepped in front of a bullet for them. I think it is more of a "we can argue with our own but don't you mess with them"

I can't put a .410 Foster slug in that advanced technology category. It doesn't meet that at the muzzle.

Opening Day 10 Point - Ontario County
Culvercreek hunt club replied to LetEmGrow's topic in Bow Hunting
You mean the ones I haven't been able to get for 2 years when I originally got my license? I had to make a special trip to grab one because they were out both years. I don't know this year, because I haven't gotten my license yet. -
oh I agree. Remember when it had to be more than a 25 caliber center fire? I really look at the 800-900 foot pounds to evaluate caliber and range for deer.
-
Shawn, Don't be a douchebag

http://www.brennekeusa.com/cms/410_magnum.html I don't care how "balanced" a gun is. The .410 has INADEQUATE energy to ethically harvest a whitetail. I have a couple very well balanced and accurate .22LR rifles too. They could take deer. Buy another gun, You won't see that legal here in NY

Or NY's General obligation law. Nothing will stop you from being sued, even having insurance, but to pay for what the statue already provides is crazy in my mind. https://www.americanwhitewater.org/resources/repository/New_York_Recreational_Use_Statute.htm -
Opening Day 10 Point - Ontario County
Culvercreek hunt club replied to LetEmGrow's topic in Bow Hunting
Eddie, it will be happening. I can't even begin to tell you how many people I talked to had no idea about this regulation. It blows my mind how many go prepare for or start a season without reading the regulations. But as we see on here, it happens every year. -
dp you do the same when you throw a steak on the grill?

What Do You Think Your Effective Range Is?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to DirtTime's topic in Bow Hunting
Darn. I thought there were a few fields and open areas in the east. My bad.
