Can just picture all the people who gather ‘round and watch in awe as you take your eye exam at DMV...better eyesight then anyone is pretty impressive.

Is a 40+ grand a year salary that far off the charts? Somehow doesn’t seem like enough.

I don't think deer have upper front teeth...could be wrong, but I don't believe they do.
-
The only problem I see is the people who do it and lie about how they got their trophy. I've killed many animals that were raised behind fences and in pens.....doesn't make a difference to me if it's a cow, chicken, pig or deer. I wouldn't drop thousands of dollars to do it, my money is better spent on vacations to tropical island's...but if that's what someone else wants to do, so be it.

probably be traced back to a shady deer butcher in the area....the kind that pop up during the season. -
What Could or Possibly Also May Be in your Hunting Area

Sounds like a few others may have escaped from research programs as well.... -
Killed while walking her dogs at 5:30, that's dark

If his intention was to kill something when he pulled the trigger it wasn’t an accident. -
Relying on tracker/dogs is out of control!
jjb4900 replied to New York Hillbilly's topic in Deer Hunting
It's a people problem....the vast majority of hunters have very little knowledge on how to track a deer or how to react after a shot. I can almost guarantee more deer are lost from poor tracking and post shot follow up then to bad shots...might not be the best shot, but the shot would result in a recovered deer if the hunter reacted properly....too many guys give up way too easily, when I was tracking a lot of the hunters would usually be ready to throw in the towel before I would -

I tracked for people for a few years...what made me give it up was the attitudes of some of the hunters.....but I honestly don't believe guys are winging shots at deer just to hit them anywhere with the thought that they can have a tracking dog find it. -
of course it can still die, and I bet the stories of them dying with only one lung far out number the stories of them living with one.
-
If my memory serves me correctly, the breeder who I bought my tracking dog from had pretty extensive information regarding tracking wounded deer.....one photo he had was that of a healthy deer that was killed and when gutted had a healed up lung with a perfect star/broadhead shaped scar.

figured it would be easier then my compound.....there's your honest answer. But with that being said, I'm still using my compound. I used it the first year they were legal and haven't used it since.
-
yep, that answer right there would have been much better...the other still left me a little unsure, I don't think it even touched on that specific question....but maybe my reading skills are off.
-
I guess it helps cool down faster...never did either one myself, but that's the idea.

tough call tough call, risk rain washing away any blood trail or risk jumping him....I'm sure you know the right choice being you made the shot.
-
Sit tight...I certainly wouldn’t mess up a deer hunt for a bird.

Couldn’t JC have prevented this whole thing? Obviously nothing could have been prevented no matter what...if he wants it to happen, it’s going to happen.

Sunrise times vary greatly across the State...check your local sunrise time.

it's kinda like going duck hunting where you're required to have steel shot, but throw some lead in the bag just because you may have a chance at a pheasant somewhere along the way....all that stuff is legal, but when you mix it, it becomes a problem. Kinda like alcohol and cars...it's legal to drive, and legal to be drunk..but when you mix them it becomes illegal.....fairly simple.
-
and the it's up to you to prove you weren't....not worth the time and trouble as far as I'm concerned.

Ever Calm is the only one I've had work....the only one I'll spend money on these days.

Right, it’s like having a box of slugs when out goose hunting “just in case” a deer strolls past...good luck explaining that one away.
