Took the Subaru to Virginia for a few days , not bad MPG . Drove from Lexington VA the Lake Ontario on about 3/4 of a tank .

13 years old worked under the table ( the best way ) as a dishwasher at a restaurant along Lake rd . At the time I made double minimum wage ,cash and of course all the shrimp and other food I,could sneak .

Good news ! I’ve had my carry permit since ‘85, my wife and both daughters do as well . I also have Fla and Utah as that gives me 38 states . Yesteray I applied for Penn carry as Penn doesn’t honor the ones I have , and they block my route to Fla. The application was a single page , and mostly y/n questions , they took my picture and the deputy said he’d mail it to me as soon as he got it . Ten minutes time and $20 cash .

So we cancelled the kids coming over for Fathers Day . Even though we didn’t have fevers , symptoms were mild and we’re just past the quarantine period . Oldest is in a wedding next week and her fiancé is in an EMT class, as he took the County Fire test and you have to have your EMT prior to getting hired. Just couldn’t risk them getting it here and missing class and the wedding . Youngest is coming, she wants Zweigles on the grill lol .

For the record I’m not against EVs , cars or fire trucks , but we’re not at the point we can just “ switch over “ and we certainly don’t have the power grid to charge them up if everyone had one . Now when we were in Sarasota last winter, you couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting a Tesla, made sense, year round sun ( and big money people ) put solar on your roof and it’s all set for around town . Not sure I’d wish to evacuate a hurricane in one though . oh full disclosure, I own Tesla stock , don’t tell me, I haven’t looked at it in months …..

I had a conversation with the young cop nextdoor awhile back . I said I’d make a great cop, anyone with a Yankee sticker on their car ,instant ticket , and wearing a hat or t shirt , two tickets . One of those stupid satin jackets , I’m planting drugs in the car .

I do like animal skin prints , but on females . My suits are loud though and are all stretched out from the hot tub chlorine, so they tend to hang low or fall off . I enjoy wearing them shirtless and watering the lawn as neighbors come home from work . oh and at three full days I feel 100% right now ! Sadly I’m Missing a retirement party tonight for two classmates, one made it to battalion Chief the other Capt . Didn’t want to risk it , really sad .

So you believe the oil companies set the price ? They control economics ? I guess then farmers set the bushel price , and miners set the silver and gold spot , I’m calling my wife’s family and tell them all they have to do is raise the commodity price on their crops . So simple who knew ? And all these years on trying to be more efficient, increasing yields , investing millions into larger equipment to work faster with less labor , wasted .

Here’s the amazing fire engine , it’s battery is good for two whole hours WTF ! It’s sop on my dept that the fuel never goes below 1/2 a tank , but they’re filled up at 3/4s so you don’t run out at a fire . Then on prolonged fires we send a fuel truck just in case . In winter times it’s never shut off when out side to keep water circulating . We could easily run a truck two,hours a shift , without it running at all at a fire,this thing will be charging more then operating .i can’t imagine a truck that only runs two,hours , a busy house may be out for hours at a time . Total show piece . ha ha ha just watched the other video , it has a “ range extender “ aka Diesel engine that kicks in after two hours . oh and Rosenbauer fire trucks basically suck to begin with . My nephew got on GMs list for some sort of EV, maybe Tahoe or Suburban size, it was like 86k, they’ve since raised it to 100k plus . Ive got to look up the “ EV “ fire truck some granola crunching west coast dept got it’s pretty funny .

She has basically a cold, which considering she has two risk factors , age and compromised lungs is pretty good . I was mostly tired , like coming off a busy night trick, oh and achy the first day . Well I finally got the vid ! Loading the camper yesterday mrs nomad said she’s getting a cold, I said ya my allergies are kicking in to . To be safe we took our temps , normal. So we went set up went for a walk then my energy dropped and some body aches kicked in . Rough night I didn’t sleep much …. Got up at9:30 feeling much better, but I took a test anyway , positive. Only signs or symptoms today are my energy level is down a small amount . heading to the beach and will hike later pic from our campsite

Yes diversify, towards the end of my working years I moved my deferred comp slowly all into the general fund, an interest paying acct. that’s now paying 3%, and NYS tax free withdrawals on the first 20k per year . I’ve not taken any yet. I bought an annuity , something I’m not all that big on , happy now ! Still have stock funds and individual shares , but I’m fine . Our farm land , we thought of selling, but it’s going up nice , and the farm rents pays the taxes and makes a profit . Wife is 40/60 equities/ bonds , although she’s not happy . A woman who’s will we’re in , when her husband passed he left her a good sum, plus a home on the lake which she sold for a pretty penny . She put it all into a bank acct. against the banks wishes ( but I’m happy lol ) seems like a decent move now . She already had $ into stocks, mostly energy ! Anyways you got to divide it all up according to your time horizon and risk tolerance , then you can just let it ride , I’ve got zero moves to make . I’ve been taking profits and putting them into things the last few years , RV, siding, doors , new energy efficient furnace, central air, vehicles , ammo , pressure canner, vacuum sealer, canning supplies, meat grinder . That worked out well too . Bring it ! Nomads compound is set !

Wasn’t vintage then ! My Dad had close to 40 years there . I have some glasses from that time, but breakage has caused the number to go from six to like two .
