Like many ,it’s not as much me getting a little wet, it’s the loss of a good blood trail, so not often will I bow hunt in the rain . Now that I’m retired even less .

I go as soon as I get up, done for the day . Although hunting hours sometimes messes me up .

Splke at 7 or 8 yards , never heard or saw him till now. . . Very thick and wet .

I’m 59 , owned two new cars ‘91 and 2018 . Never leased never made payments till the ‘18 and only because of zero percent financing , put the money in a fixed account at 3% best I could do short term . Just bought a truck ‘17 3k miles . i dont lease , same as I don’t rent my TV or house . Leases allow people to,drive a vehicle they can’t afford to buy ,which I guess works for some , especially the dealers .

That’s why I’m a stud, somewhere between 30 and 35 stitches in my face over the years .Hockey sticks , bricks, glass ,speeding police car ..... You’ve been through a lot, rest and make sure the Mrs takes care of you ,it’s her duty !

Ya some guys sure have many steps. I put the top pin ( all I use hunting ) on the crease and dump the trigger . By the time I looked at and thought about all the things some do , the snow would be melted and the antlers shed .

I use Steiner, Military and Marine . Not bad size, built to take some punishment . I don’t know much about binoculars, and may think about a new pair myself . Use them almost every time I hunt , it’s one of a handful of items I take every time I go in the woods for any reason .

They’re two NY’s , NYC which grows in,part due to,immigration and NYS which shrinks each year . Learn something everyday ! Had no idea I was supposed to use that orange ring for anything .

Many,years ago,in Washington state my friend had that happen , later he ran into the guys on the dirt road, and almost came to,blows . That was the deciding factor in him switching to bow , in that state you can do,one or the other not both .

I have a large peep, I just look at pin ,float pin over target ,fire .Its nothing I give much thought too .

I gotta a agree with Steve. I’ve bow hunted 30years ,owned two bows, don’t adjust, change ,or tinker with them ,dont read bow mags,catalogs or belong to any other hunting forum ,let alone bow forums ,dont shoot 3D or at any range . I often don’t know what guys are talking about even when they don’t use abbreviations. Lol ( I know that one ! )

Back in the day ,when we canoed up in Western Canada, we always brought a 12 Ga. never filled out anything never had an issue, but that was way before 911. We were also,young and dumb. But they don’t mess around at boarders anymore . Daughter lives in Buffalo, Couple months ago her and two friends were taking an Uber in Buff . Driver got in wrong lane and headed into Canada by mistake apparently there’s no way to turn around prior to check ? Anyway, daughter and friends all has passport cards, driver did not ..... They said we just want to turn around ,Uber driver made wrong turn that’s why we’re here, they were brought inside for a couple hours ! Only when they contacted friends Dad ,an attorney were they allowed to return . It was all very strange, daughter and friends said can we simply walk back? No ! And they had proper IDs but were held in limbo .

The party permit ended long before the Saturday opener .Like two decades . ive hunted since mid 70s never had to do party permits ,that I recall maybe a few years early i can’t remember . Sat or Monday never mattered to me never worked a M- F job . so few guys bow hunted back in the day , it seemed to be more about drinking the weekend prior to Monday then anything . Opening day rarely fails on Thanksgiving week as well .

Diet and no drinking break, Genesee bourbon barrel aged stout, at the source . I enjoyed it .

If the wind stays SW, Monday AM I’ll be in a big ladder I put up a few yards from where I shot my gun buck and a coyote last year .

Many that leave do so in retirement , they’re at the age where kids are grown and they’re no,longer working , the two things keeping most here . The second group is right out of college, and can’t find as good of jobs as elsewhere . Those are two ,groups who,hurt the economy the most by leaving . Four of my wife’s close friends moved, another will soon, she’s about out of friends.... a few of my co workers and in one case one-off the guys three adult kids all moved . My nephew moved after college as he had trouble finding work with his two,degrees, industrial engineering and management ( this was years ago ), he just sold a small percentage of his business to one of his partners for seven million . we’re not just losing, but losing the contributors.

I’ve shot a pile of 1 1/2 over the years ,the ag land I hunt many of those are 8s and up . Was always happy to take the first one that came by , last idk 10 years ,it’s been basically outside the ears ,which it turns out isn’t that much harder most years . I have no “target bucks “don’t even have one camera out, dont scout , and right now I find that rather exciting , I’d like to hold out for a true giant, but I don’t see that happening . Although my rule is a gun buck must be bigger then my bow buck , which may account for why I seldom kill any in gun anymore . I seldom take does anymore ,one deer is fine for the wife and I, plus if my daughter tags one it’s more then enough . I don’t mind whacking one to give away though .

Yes , plus pesto, zucchini, red pepper, little onion , cottage cheese, chicken ,mozzarella,oil ,salt , pepper .
