  1. Good luck with your private transfers though ffl's. The gun shop owners i know said no way will they spend the time,do the paperwork and put your gun on their books, so you can sell it to another. they are not in business to handle your private sales.
  2. Well seems like its time to buy large 1,911's 7 round mags and one up the pipe of hard hitting .45.Man up boys, dust off the .357's as well, strap on your .44 mag, 9mm a girls gun anyway ! So then more folks will die because all new guns will be large calibers. High cap only worked because the bullets were small for the most part. same for rifles,.223 minor caliber not suitable for deer..... now load up the .12ga with slugs, stuff the old 30-30 full of rounds . Its what Andy wants !
  3. Your right there. When my 2 finish their masters they are heading south, followed by Mom and Dad. many retired guys from the job already left nys and more and more are talking about it. another guy on the job said this is the last straw, he's a big gun guy and fly fisherman, so he said montana when he retires. So as more of us gun owning red staters head to one, well good luck with holding on to your "hunting" guns fellas. Lets see now move down south save a few grand on property tax, pick a no state tax state as well, gun friendly and no snow !! Where is the down side ?
  4. Today my glock 23 is loaded with 14 rounds of Black Talon, same for tomorrow and the next day and the next.
  5. I'd say your right Steve on parts of that, at work I know a few who own only 1 or 2 guns AR's beining one of them. My lawyer owns 1 shotgun one Glock and one AR hardly a gun nut, let alone hard core. But the whole HUNTING part is a strawman anyway, its a 2A issue not hunting, but many fell for cuomo's bait and swtich .Sad. I do think it may be a big mistake for hunters not to stand up for gun owners though, seeing as how hunters make up only a small fraction of gun ownwers, we need THEM to stick up for hunting .If I was an AR guy and hunters did not stand up with me, I'd be sending money to PETA .
  6. Who owns AR's ? Hum it is the most popular rifle in the U.S. so I'd guess plenty ? Now for me,lets see well my lawyer has one,as well as the electriton nextdoor, a retired engineer i hunt with, the farmer who's land I hunt upon,oh and i'd say at least 25 % of the 500 man Fire Dept. I work for ok add in a few cop friends as well. Many buy them after serving in the Military seeing as how thats where they learned to love them. But don't kid yourself, they don't like your nice friendly wood stocked hunting gun either. They went for the lowest hanging fruit, easy pickings, heck half the guys here don't like em..... that makes it even easier for them. Trust me one day it'll be,"these hunting guns are FAR MORE POWERFUL then the guns the military uses", no citizen needs that kind of power.
  7. Yes ive sent emails, money, signed up new nra memebers.Heres just one other way to send a message. A background check each time we buy ammo? OK fine,on a certin sat. gun owners across the state hit the box stores to each buy ONE box of .22 shells, 100 guys in line needing background checks.... Then put those in your car come back in and buy another box and another and another. the system will shut down, the stores will complain to the state about all the work and time . We can have marches and rallies, but this will be a state wide protest, no need to drive to Albany, plus it will test and overwhelm the system . Just a thought .
  8. and your Lt Governor Bob Duffy, our former Mayor and past Police Chief kept his high Cap. Beretta as well.wonder when Bob will turn his in.
  9. The good news is I'm out. my oldest has her BA and is working on her RN, then moving to Tenn. The youngest is in a 5 year masters in accounting, she's been dating a boy from texas for 3 years, we told her to move there when they graduate. Now zero reason for us to stay in NYS . I'm so glad my kids will leave here. Then i'm retiring from the FD and were moving to Texas as well, the wife hopes they succeed from the U.S....... The wife and I just agreed on the move. So in 4 years when I retire, Gov Andy send my nice NYS pension check to me in the free part of America !! that poll mentions the FF shootings in webster where I live and i know one of the guys shot and my daughter one of the ones killed. My Fire fighter union the IAFF polled there membership awile back , 85 % of us are gun owners ! Many I work with own ak 47's and AR 15's and all are pissed on this gun control BS. But that will never be in their newspaper... oh snap, they don't own them anymore they all sold them at garage sales last summer lol...
  10. Everything I'm reading right now says, done deal. Just working on "school safety" issues, the gun part is set. Sad and I hope wrong, but this 30 year and Life NRA member has a bad feeling.
  11. beikirchs, has a fair stock of .380,9 mm,40 and .45 ammo.Although I have a large supply at home at all times I picked up a few hundred more rounds. 9mm 15.95 for 50 is the marked price. I did not ask about mil. cal. though, did get more 00 buck though . simple supply and demand on prices, which is why I buy bulk and keep a large supply,i;m shooting ammo that i got for way less years ago. I still got Black Talons lol... Keep up the good fight.
  12. and can only own TWO mags. private sales need gov. checks, which gun shops won't do due to cost and paperwork , and not wanting unknown folks and guns on their books now. My oldest when she gets her RN wants to move south, we now are all for that, my youngest when she gets her CPA, we now want her to move where her boyfriend is from,Texas. We'll be right behind them. Send my NYS pension check to Texas please !!
  13. Correct. A staffer counts them pro or con its mostly just a numbers thing. I'm a Life NRA memeber and I could not make it through Tony's, the staffers just going to say 1,pro gun and on to the next for the most part. Mine have been sent and my crew will do theirs tonight at work....
  14. Today there would be no Boston Tea Party it seems, we might get fined or something bad like that.....
  15. If new guns can only come with 7 round mags whats going to happen is this, we'll buy more powerful guns.Right? Lets see a 7 rounds of 9mm or a 7 rounds of .45.... A .223 or 308 or 30.06? I see lots of scout rifles being bought up.Before we had a choice a lot of little bullets or a few big ones, now Andy is saying buy the big ones. So more folks will die, because more will be shot with the major calibers, because most shootings by far are not mass shootings where high cap matters. I happen to know 3 guys who've been shot, all 3 work with me on the fire dept. all minor calibers. One just took a .223 round a couple weeks back, he's out, up on his feet.I'm glad the scumbag did not use grandpa's deer rifle ... But those we be next,"sniper rifles". Who needs such a powerful gun that can kill at over 400 yards...... I gotta go now the sun made the ground soft enough to dig and I got pvc pipes to bury, just do it along water lines to throw off the metal detectors .
  16. You get mailings because dues money can not be used for politcal purposes,so you need to come up with a couple dollars once in awhile. By being a memeber you do give them the numbers and votes they need though. In the past 25 or 30 years i've been a member, I've heard the ,I don't believe all that they say thing a time or 2. So I ask ,"of the 20 plus pro gun groups, then which do YOU BELONG TOO ? " The answer is always the same NONE. Do you write letters to the ED? No, contact your elected officals? nope. Thats ok, we will but some of you are getting heavy after all these years of carring you. Last week I took my wife, her brother and his girl to lunch, $90 . Ok NRA membership is $35, a couple $20 during the year and its still less then lunch for 4.
  17. I'm a Life member and know what ? I don't agree with everything they say, just like I don't agree with everything my wife says too,but she's the best deal I got going and so is the NRA ! The reason you get asked for money even though you paid dues is simple, dues money can not by law be used for political purposes, hence P.A.C.s like NRA ILA, and so on. only 56 workers out of close to 800 making 100k a year seems like a low number,100k is not big money anymore...
  18. I'll be watching the only football game I watch all year i guess... Thing is my nephew had two neighbors who played in the NFL and got players passes ect. he would invite us down but it was of no interest to me. tailgate with the players families and so on.Some guys would go nuts for the chance, I'd guess . As for the Giants, the coach's sister Laughton or something, lived on a lot my father in law sold them, and her husband (who is the coaches best friend) used to shoot on my range behind their house. He would tell me inside info stuff, and I had no clue who he was talking about.... Oh well enjoy the game, for me it means no more football messing up my tv shows !
  19. Thanks for the link. here is a nice video of my Dept.
  20. Fire LT. 4 more years if the feet, hips, knees last . The best job for a hunter .
  21. There are giant bucks IN Rochester ! You just can't hunt them legally, the river bottom in the city holds monsters. The guys got it pretty much covered already. 25 acres in Webster will be pricey. Now my buddy just bought 40 acres of great hunting land In Palmyra for 55K, thats about 30 minutes from my Webster home . I've done the town hunt, but don't anymore, hunted those lands years before the town owned them, so its not as good for me anymore, with guys all over it many not knowing to much what they'er doing.... I have 120 acres in Canandaigua thats about 30 minutes from the city, land around there is I guess 2,500 to 3 k an acre.A lot depends on if its ag land, has road frontage, water, sewer and so on. The hunting and fishing is good, with some work you should find woods to hunt. If your in the area and I'm off I'd be glad to drive you around a bit.
  22. Could not cut and paste a link. Just google West Webster FD, you find info on helping there. The families were very overhelmed and appreciative by the turn out we were told, thanks. I was as muched touched by the local citizens turning out along the road, as I was from FF from as far as Calf.
  23. Sad yet inspiring. The folks who came from near and far, many of the hotel rooms paid for through people donating them. The numbers of citizens young and old lining the streets on a cold windy winter day. The young folks standing outside at night in the candle light vigals, and waiting 3 hours in line not to buy over priced concert tickets but to simply walk by a casket. Goodness does far outweigh evil, although sometimes we focus more on the evil.
  24. http://mcfw.com/?p=1384 yesterdays funeral in Webster
  25. everyone in the area knew he killed his Grandma,I remember when it happened myself, been to that house a number of time as a kid with my dad who knew the killers dad. Still launch my boat right down the street, you could use his dock for 5 bucks or a six pack..... I never did though. He more less told everyone new to the neighborhood, what he did, but since many never sell and move the homes stay in the family and people knew. I'm still cold from standing in formation for 5 hours at the funeral today, hope the city is quiet tonight as I'm at work.
