I can't say that I ever read a regulation stating this, but it has always been my understanding that a DEC officer can enter private property and go so far as searching buildings ( other than homes where people reside) IF he has reason to suspect there is a violation.. He can't your home without a search warrant, but he can searched your barn or utility shed if he suspects a violation..

On my Alaska hunts, air taxi pilots were required to carry firearms...The SW Mountain Guns in .44 Mag with 4" barrels were very popular..Designed to be carried a lot and shot very seldom....

Thanks, but no thanks, Chef...I'm sure I couldn't afford one..Even the beaters are getting expensive now..I was in a gunshop a couple of weeks ago, and they had two Garands, one for $1100 and one for $1300, and neither one was anything special.. I paid $400 for mine, but that was about 20 years ago...it's nothing special, just a shooter, but I do like the fact that it has a WWII vintage receiver...
