EZ Pass! -
There's nothing like fresh back strap.Pure protein.

If you can get into that thick stuff well before daylight,Then its a good plan. I believe when the pressures on the best place to be is the thickest nastiest brush You can find,Climb 20 feet up and watch them sneak back into it.

Same here last week,I saw legal bucks on the side of the road 5 minutes from my property at 5am and about 40 does driving out at sunset,Almost hit a few with the car,They would'nt move out of the road. But during the day ,nothing.
-
I will hit the woods Tuesday for another sit,Temps a bit cooler than last week and this coming weekend temps will drop below freezing at night. I hope they start moving a little deeper in the woods and away from the edges.
-
I live 5 minutes away from there and thats the first I've heard of that.Several years ago the state brought in "Snipers" in a controlled hunt to thin the herd and that caused a small controversy. The deer herd in western suffolk/eastern nassau is growing,Its going to get interesting in the comeing years to see how they deal with this situation.
-
Hang in there,Ive spent 2 full days in stand and have only seen 2 does myself.Keep the faith.
-
Poor guy has to wait until he sheds to lose the ball...Or gets taken during the season.
-
10 hours on stand and not a single deer sighted on Friday, watched 2 grouse make a heck of a racket. Typical early oct , all the deer are on the edges and when I drove through town to leave I saw tons of them standing on front lawns, one was actually bedded on a lawn 15 feet from their front porch!
-
Be careful , a lot of those pot plots are booby trapped.
-
The first reports are from the traditional early season spots were guys have access to private land I.e vineyards,Xmas tree farms in the hamptons ect. There are plenty of deer in the rocky point area, but their holed up in thick brush and avoiding the heat by staying bedded during day light hours. I myself will not touch suffolk until nov 1st, to many ticks and not enough movement.
-
Movement? My wife called me to say she almost nailed 3 with the car running across the road in cove neck nassau county last Thursday,So far she's done better than me.I travel 2 hours upstate to see nothing and she almost wacks one 5 minutes from the house.
-
Deer thug, just stay the course. I spent several days last gun season with out seeing a single deer, then out of no where here comes a nice 8 ptr, hence my screen picture. Keep the faith!
-
Burmjohn and I are both in Lake Huntington.
-
I saw 2 does in 10 hours on stand yesterday,I think they saw all the movement I was making swatting the flies away from my face all day,Too damn warm.
-
Spent 10 hours in the woods and I had 2 does walk past me at 50 yards at 8:30,That was it for the day.Spent most of the day swatting flies away from my face.Too damn warm.Of course saw plenty of deer driving home even an 8 ptr and spike on the side of 17,Watching the cars drive by.

That noise is a sonar device deer use to detect hunters!
-
I hope they use it again on friday!
