Watching the national Grid outage reports coming in...22,000 customers out already...mostly Erie and Niagara County. Genesee County starting to move up. This sucks.

Terry Pegula...Shady McCoy....Half of the NFL....

Just caught the Buffalo "news" at noon and there was a story on removing flags and banners around Buffalo, and the tape showed the Buffalo public works people taking down Michelle Obama banners down from poles....maybe they could have made an exception and left those up to get torn apart.

Feeling better about having the natural gas emergency back-up generator installed this past summer.

Amazing piece of equipment. Can the battery be continually charging, say, while driving or plugged into an outlet in an office setting, therefore giving the person extra battery time away from a power source? Perhaps a dumb question, but I had to ask.

Memories are forever. Congrats on doing what you did...More memories still to come, I'm sure.

Owner should invest in a leash.

Not waiting on next Alliance game...just waiting for Alliant smokeless powder to arrive... -
I recall it being quite nice last February, and then the sheet hit the fan in March.
-
Can see it now...someone's car driving itself while occupants lighting up a bong in the back seat....aa well as doing other crazy things...

Man-O man...that's the same stuff I had to demo out of our old '50's bathroom in August. Nasty metal lathe, but the bathroom was built like a bunker. Concrete walls....ugh...that was tough. Same stupid pink bathtub. Same tile. same layout. Mirror image of our Bathroom. Will have nightmares tonight...lol

Bought some clubs there several years ago. Pete Fenn worked there as I recall. -

yep, I guess I will be in the middle of the crepe in southern Catt. County...cannot wait. No golf this week.... -
Looking forward to the super bowl "what's for dinner tonight" pictures and descriptions...yum.

So far, your situation has not made the news locally in Buffalo....A litter of cats born at the zoo made some headlines, but not the thruway thing...maybe later. Good to read that you're ok.

MEGA solar projects coming to the Rochester/ western Finger Lakes
Merlot replied to Bigfoot 327's topic in General Chit Chat
Why not use the New York Thruway ROW between the eastbound and westbound lanes for this experiment? Why mess up the countryside? New York State lawmakers need to think this through a bit more, in my opinion. How does a solar panel work at top efficiency with clouds overhead most of the time? -
Our home is left at a constant 69 degrees in winter. I never change the temp, so that not only the air temp is the same, but also the interior walls, furniture, floors, etc., do not cool down with thermostat variations. Better to just leave constant temperature...at least this works for us. Now, as mentioned earlier, if your R value for insulation is lower than it could be, adding insulation can help, depending on the home and the degree of difficulty of adding insul.

So what changes are you doing / making for next season

My plan is to work a little harder on my body, in order to keep using my compound bow, as opposed to having to purchase a x-bow. Want to stay away from that scenario for as long as possible. -
Why on earth do people do such dumb things. Must be a rattle snake handler in his spare time.
-
If people are that bat shingle crazy about stocking up, maybe those people should just buy the survival food that keeps for 25 years, and tap into that when a storm hits and knocks out power for a week. We have stuff already prepared to eat if need be. I do recall heavy snows when a young lad and NO PANIC.

No snow predicted where we're staying in Florida Saturday or Sunday. Now where did I put my sunblock?...
