  1. Wife and I flew to Tampa from Buf on Southwest Airlines non-stop, then returned for about $650 total. Seems like other airlines were more expensive, so we stayed away from them. Rental cars a toss-up.
  2. Expensive, plus even if utilities buried lines, a burn out of Underground lines will take a helluvalot longer to repair than it is to repair overhead lines.
  3. Trees going in the subways is asinine. Guys are working 16 hr. days to get lines back up. Go to a subway and buy a couple 6in subs and give to some of the guys. A little good will can go a long way.
  4. Agree about ROW maintenance....could be better but you wouldn't believe the concerns property owners have about trimming a branch off of a tree on a property a person owns. I can guarantee you the new England area is a bigger mess right now due to people/local government that do not allow much trimming or cutting because it's "Charming New England" and the tourism dollars generated every fall with people checking out the changing leaf colors...true stuff. Nothing against the area, but the el. utilities are not much of a concern until the poles and wires are down and everyone then screams when the restoration takes forever because of short-sightedness of some people protecting the trees.
  5. Having worked for National Grid for 35 years, I can attest to the impossible conditions we had to work in after storms like this. People should remember it took decades to build and maintain the overhead lines, and it sucks to see all that work tossed away when storms hit and take the facilities down overnight. We put in a natural gas stand by generator to protect ourselves in the event of a electric failure. Next step will probably be moving south to get away from the white stuff, then get killed by a tornado...or hurricane.
  6. Going on 30 years ago, but I remember deer shotgun opener and 35 MPH winds, but we went out anyway, Well, we get into our stands with the winds still blowing, but did not give it much notice. Later, the winds picked up to about 45-50 mph with rain and lightning....we all got nervous and hightailed it out of there. Branches breaking , trees falling...very scary.
  7. Just placed an order. Until I get reloading equipment, I will order through this company. Even with the shipping, it still is a good price. Thanks.
  8. Dumb question, but is the ammo fresh...recently produced ammo or old stuff. Looking for 7MM Mag 150 gr.
  9. May as well ban knives, cars, electricity, pressure cookers, chain saws, sunshine, I -phones, etc. These items can kill too. Dick's can stick it where the sun doesn't shine. What a world...run by idiots.
  10. I'm gonna print my own roll up the stupid rim to win and fake em out,..
  11. Any chance you can abandon the difficult to access location for a more favorable, equipment friendly spot?
  12. unless snowboarding involves being the fastest going downhill around gates like regular skiing, then I'm not interested. Looks more like an activity than an athletic endeavor.
  13. NBC hired Kim Jung Hung to do the play-by-play, with Dennis Rodman providing the color commentary. The Swedish bikini team will provide halftime entertainment...
  14. Makes eating laundry pods seem innocent in comparison...I guess this will be the new trend at least on college campuses. World is screwed up.
  15. Brady has knee injury and Eagles win 37 - 27. Brady retires to some paradise with that bikini clad gal on the "what's for dinner" thread scrambling eggs while GIselle files for divorce..
  16. Something about too aggressively advertising tourism in the state.
  17. Interesting implement. Wonder if this is an advancement from the "Groundhog Max". Black Boar sounds more impressive than Groundhog max.
  18. Archery shops across America will close down due to the simplicity of this device. Cannot have that.
  19. I'd be dead in 6 days without merlot.
  20. Merlot

    Diets

No pop, relatively little beer intake, some wine. I eat kinda what I want, but not a lot. Large dinners are a thing of the past for me. My health is good...weight in check. I guess I'll live...
