  1. I have two doe with fawns and that is all I am getting On camera. One small spike! Seems to be a crazy year. MFDC5430.AVI
  2. Hey Non, Try fletching tape. I use it on all my arrows wood to carbon with and without wraps. It is the best that I have found.
  3. With the new bows being made some are cut to center and past. Making it possible to cant the bow without having to change the site picture much. I cant my bow and don't change anything. Also if you by a bow second hand and it was custom for someone they can be 50 at 29 or 30. They aren't always for 28 in draw length.
  4. For string slap I found that when I locked my elbow of my bow arm out i will get string slap. When you are shooting you should be doing a push pull kinda thing. By that I mean you should always be pushing the bow forward while pulling the string back. You will get a much cleaner release by doing this. That is more advanced for a beginner though. I tell everybody that is just starting out, start on your form first get a huge round bail or something like it and stand 5-10 feet from it and work on your form not accuracy. By form I mean your bow arm extended the same way your draw is consistent and your anchor and release is the same every time. You have back tension and you are holding at full draw with back tension and arm in line and not your elbow out to the side. You will find that if you do this your groups will start getting smaller as you become more consistent with your shooting. I said this before but check out Tradgang.com. There is a world of info there and lots of help from people that have been shooting for 20+ years. Plus you can talk to some of the more notable archers that make videos.
  5. No one is saying that the government gets to or has to choose who hunts on your land. What is being said is that a farm if the crop damage is so great should allow hunters on to take care of the problem. I am sure everyone here has a buddy that they would let hunt if needed. What is really being said is if the deer are such a problem then the farmer would probably be looking for any means to stop the damage. I know if a dairy farmers cows were getting taking out by a huge ny mountain lion or bigfoot that they would be calling on all possible outlets to get it to stop. Same as rats in a chicken coop. When I was a kid I was always asked if I wanted to take some rats out with my pellet gun when the farmer had a gun himself. They want the problem gone but have a lot of things to do being on a farm.
  6. Do you consider them baiting? Why or why not? I consider baiting introducing a source in a quantity that is unnatural like a truck load of apples or a pile of corn, and stuff like deer cane that is almost like a drug and the deer get addicted to it. What is your thoughts?
  7. I don't think land can be land locked and sold. Has to have some rights of ingress and egress
  8. Caveman check out Tradgang online. Put something out there that you are looking for an extra setof bow hush and if anybody is willing to part with them. Also in two week one of the big trad events is going on. Denton Hill if you are close go and you will get a lot of help and feed back about your bow. Great guys down there and they are willing to help. I like the wooly whispers on my bow they do a great job but they do get wet if hunting in the heavy rain! You can get cat whiskers and put two on top and bottom and the correct didtance which will work, brush button etc. What kind of bow are you shooting?
  9. The are called a triploid grass carp. There is a form you fill out and dec comes and checks your pond out and then you can get them. A supplier can't sell them to you i believe unless you have a permit from DEC.
  10. Milk snake I have a 3-4 footer around my house and this year found babies. They are cool snakes.
  11. Bowfishing for carp is like flyfishing! It is super addicting!! Get yourself a new setup with a spool. I was using the drum style last year (thats what I was brought up on) and had one come back and smash my hip. I have a nice scar from that one.
  12. Went out earlier this year and grabbed this guy. All together we landed 4 browns and 3 rainbows in about 3 hours. This was the biggest some of the other where legal but we threw them all back. My daughter was having a blast and she is only 3.
  13. Interesting Read. Hey if it helps out then its a great thing specially if it kills some ticks too. I don't think it will kill the ticks though, we have Pine Bush in our area. It is a preserve and they do a lot of controlled burning there and the tick are horrendous still.
  14. Here is a thought. Yes people see deer shoot deer while smoking taking a dump chewing etc. etc. My take like some already said is the wind plays a big factor. You could be in your stand smoking and the sent might never touch the ground for 100 yards depending on thermals! Or it could go right down the tree and flood the area. You cant see what the wind is doing all the time. Deer density and pressure also play a huge role in this. I say why take the chance, you might shoot big deer while smoking but you might have never had the opportunity to shoot that monster that broke the record books because of it! You will never know right?
  15. I know you guys want to get this over with and out of the way. But I have heard that you shouldn't do it until Jan of 2018 and do the paper copy when you do it!! If everybody that has to do it and does a paper copy at the last minute they will never do it again!! Think of all the letters they would receive at once. It would over load them!! Just a thought.
  16. Check out http://www.rheaknives.com/ I have one and it is a sweet knife.
  17. It was great meeting you and thanks for the coffee. Glad to meet you and get some info of the area. Always nice to meet knowledgeable people in the area. Looking forward to getting out either ice fishing, turket hunting in the spring or just another cup of coffee (my treat next time). Nice meeting you.
  18. I have fought with feather for a long time. I had a couple batches just sluff off the arrow. I mean you would sit there and they would just drop off in the quiver!! Cant have that so I started searching and found Fletch Tape. Stuff works wonders. I clean the arrow with rubbing alcohol then throw the flecthing on. I then usually take duco cement and run it down the feathers for added reassurance. You can make your feather fancy if you want! These are for my daughter.
  19. I had chasing. Heard footsteps got ready saw brown and then crash crash tuning all over. Then Nothing. So far 13 deer between me and my brother and no shot taken crazy. Makes you toes feel a little warmer afterm sitting since 645.
  20. Toes are getting cold. Wish I could seen what was blowing at me.
