  1. Finally out in the stand the wind is brutal but I had to do it. Let's hope something shows to make it interesting. Pic of a bear doesn't look huge but still cool.
  2. Pine bush has some good hunting. Even with all the pressure you can connect. You have to put your time in and do alot of homework but it can be done. I have been very successful there. You are right though Rob it is a different kinda hunting there.
  3. Its been snowing steady big wet flakes here for the last hour or so. Hoping to put some hours in tomorrow. I got a nice looking bear on the trail cam. Could be interesting.
  4. Here's a few more calls, all grunt calls. I also put together arrows. I love the look of wood but I shoot carbons so its more of a build you own!
  5. Letem I do sell them but currently I don't have any ready and I am still in the process of moving so I don't have the lathe set up. Once I get it up and running I will hopefully get a stock back I can do custom's also. I will try to post more pics later tonight.
  6. Here a fisher cat video hope it works. fishercat.mp4 If it doesn't work right off try to open it in quick time i got that to work when I downloaded it
  7. I make calls for hunting. I turn grunt tubes starting duck calls and this one in the picture is a cotton tail distress call made out of chakte Viga.
  8. I count my steps in my sleep it's sad to say but when you work as a surveyor you are always pacing something off. That being said you have to keep doing it all the time to be good at it just like anything. Practice makes prefect or at least you closer.
  9. Had a doe at three yards last night was waiting for her to keep walking. Then she looked up and caught me closing my eyes! She was gone. Back at it for a short sit then off to grout tile and pull staples for new carpet!
  10. If you have as many tracks as you say there might not be a real steady pattern there. That's easy to figure out. Which might be good the deer feel safe enough to roam about. Try real hard to pay attention to you entry and exit. That might help give it some time. 30 seconds can change a whole season.
  11. Are you shooting real skinny arrows? If it's a concern bump you arrow to a thicker wall and retune the bow.
  12. First sit of the season let's hope it a good one!
  13. I got my 4h tag finally with 3pp. Crazy to wait for it but I always got my second one being 4j.
  14. I would belive this too but u have pulled my cams and all my pictures are from 12 to 300 pm.
  15. Loved reading this last year thanks for taking the time to do it again. Love working dogs.
  16. Do you think its the recurve long bow being faster or it fits you better and you get better performance because of that?
  17. I would go out but we just bought a new house and we are renovating it right now. Stupid closing got pushed back and made me late. I will be scouting with a shot gun though on the new property for an hour a two. ! It will all come together though. I have a week off to bow hunt later in the season.
  18. I have been using a powder on my fletching it something like fletch dry. I pout it into a plastic bag and then massage it into the feathers. I can't smell any kind of sent on them when they are coated. The stuff lasts pretty good too.
  19. Rages work with high pounsage bows and great broadside shots. If you want something that is going to always cut and not fail apon impact stick with a cut on contact. Murphys law.
  20. We have a med sized one. It hold two deer with no problem and alot of other stuff. I think ours is a 15 cu ft freezer.
  21. I always wave them back and forth real fast like I am trying to swat mosquitoes around my head. Gives them plenty of bend test. Probably not the best way to do it but it works.
  22. If you don't want to buy an armguard just use a sock cut the toe end off and slip it over your clothes. Also adds a warmth factor!
  23. They want you to hunt the pine bush because the deer eat the lupine which is a karner blue butterfly staple. They would rather see the butterfly than deer! Trust me if if the deer weren't hurting the environment in this way they wouldn't let hunters in there. Kind of a catch 22 if you know what i mean.
  24. I got 4h and 4j both were my choices this year. I know where there is a bog old doe that never seems to have fawns!!!
