  1. SWEET!!!!! Be sure to keep me in the loop.
  2. I'm familiar with Partridge Run. Been hunting it now and then, for over 50 years. Though it's been a few years since I have hunted there, I have taken some spring birds from there in the past. Along with a couple of trophy (for 4H) bucks too. PR is a good sized chunk of land, about 4,500 acres. And it is nowhere near as crowded there now, as in years past!!! Plenty of room, and always a fairly good turkey population there too. Put your boots on the ground around the Fawn Lake area first. The flats, just under the ridges, is always a good area. Then check out the upper side from Ridge Rd. That will be very steep! But not many hunters come in from that side, and I always found some turkeys roosted up on the ridge. Good luck!
  3. She's a beauty! Post up the range results for us!
  4. Wish I'd seen this a few weeks ago! Though I am happy with the American Tactical I bought, this one has a few more features! Like the carbon fiber forestock, Magpul buttstock, and teflon coated 20 inch barrel, along with a two stage trigger. All for just about what my gun cost! This really is a smoking deal for someone looking to get that first AR. Or even adding another one to the safe! I don't think the cost to have the mag pinned would be that much. I prefer to have all the AR features that require the fixed mag in NYS. I've found that the Bear Arms loaders that Nomad sent me work awesome!! And it is no big deal to me, to cycle the action to unload. Or to just un-pin the rear of the lower. To each their own on this.
  5. What a sweet scope! Love the reticle on this one. It's a bit out of my price range now, but I do see a Vortex scope in my future. I should have bought the one Tree guy was selling awhile back. Kicking myself now for not doing so.
  6. Great buck and mount!!! Congratulations again, on a sweet bow buck!
  7. Heck yeah! I am just an average at best turkey hunter, as I have never been really super, passionate about hunting them. And our turkey population here on the farm, in recent years, is a fraction of what it was years ago. Many others here have a ton more skill than I for turkeys. mowin included!
  8. Over the years, I have really enjoyed the smiles on new hunters faces. After seeing them with their first deer or turkey. Hit me up anytime.
  9. Welcome! I am in the capital region too. Will be happy to help you get going in your hunting endeavors, any way I can!
  10. Heal up, and hope you feel better soon!!!

    Pair of Tens

Very nice Larry. I like the rope around the antler bases. I have one downstairs very similarly done.
  12. Welcome!! Great to have you join us! I have a pair of Muck Woody Sport boots, that I could pull the legs of my jeans over if I wanted. As I don't wear tight pants. But I spray the boots down with Sawyers, and tuck in the jeans to help prevent ticks from crawling up. And that does help by the way.
  13. Though they have four legs, they are every bit as loved as the two legged members of our families. Prayers and good vibes sent to Gage, and all of his human family.
  14. Son, DIL and Grandsons just got back from Hi a week or so ago. No problems at all. You should be fine. Safe travels!
  15. Welcome!! Great to have you join us!!
  16. My grampy......."well, if ya took it apart, ya aught ta know how to git it back together". "Just keep monkeyin with it, you'll get it eventually". He said that anytime I worked on anything at the farm. Me..... You just might learn something, if you listen.
  17. Happy Birthday Shorty 1100!!! Shoot straight you young pup!!! Perhaps your owner will take you out, and get your tube cleaned?
  18. If this virus is still around, I will self quarantine for two weeks on October 1st!!!!
  19. I upgraded about a year ago to an Obsession Phoenix. Still have my 20 year old MQ32 Mathews all set up. I would have no problem at all taking it out and killing another deer with it. Wouldn't get much for it if I sold it, nay as well keep it. Or maybe give it away to a young hunter who has nothing, to get them started.
  20. That's me. I'm 95% on the ground when I hunt. And do alright killing pressured bucks. But that's me. Any way someone else wants to hunt is fine by me too! Be it a saddle, climber, lock on, ladder, whatever works for you, it's all good! What I don't think is good, is telling another hunter what they should or shouldn't do.
