Did Kittery today. Did pick up some Carbon Express Piledrivers for the crossbows and some lighted nocks. I've eaten lobster in some form every day so far. Think I've gained a few pounds???...lo But enjoying every minute up here with Mrs grampy. Nubble Lighthouse at dusk. (Sorry for the crappy phone pic's.)Surf was up too. We changed plans. Going up to Portland tomorrow instead of Lake Sabago. This time up here, has been just what I needed. Off to a fishing adventure with Dinsdale on Saturday. The fun keeps going! Life is good!

Most Deer Survived Harsh 2018-19 Winter Conditions
grampy replied to Steve D's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
From what I've seen on my hunting properties this spring, the deer came through the winter just fine. Man, deer are some tough critters. And I gain more respect for them each year. -
Been there a few times. Always drop a few bucks in there too! Always tell my wife "it's a really good deal"!!!.......grin

Then inland to Lake Sabago on Wednesday.

A beautiful morning here. Heading over to Kennebunkport and Porpoise Harbor fishing peir today. Have had a ton of stuff going on lately. But the sound of the waves, washes everything away. And puts me in a peaceful place. My batteries are charging.

We were coming over the Berkshires on our way to Maine, this morning about 11am, and it was like a blizzard!! Even started sticking to the grass. Not to bad here along the coast. In the 50s.

I'd gladly give up all my possession's for just five more minutes with my mom. Happy Mothers Day Ma. And to all the Moms out there, and 'up there'.

I like a roughed up striker, so I use the same sandpaper for the pot on the striker. Nice new pot and striker combo ya got there! Good luck!

This wet weather has definitely put a damper on my trigger time as well. I have some stuff I hand loaded over the winter, for 270 and 7mm-08, that I'd like to test out. Will get out soon for sure. Have fun with your sighting in wolc ! Let us know how it turns out for you.

My 1st Attempt at Pruning and Grafting Apples
grampy replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
What you've done so far looks really good! I wish I could help you with this topic, but I know little about it. I am interested though! And will follow this thread to learn more. The grafting kit you have is something I've never seen. But I can see how it would work really well. On our property, near where the original farm house was located, there is about an acre of apple trees that were planted in the early to mid 1900's. They still produce most every year. We always cut brush away from the bases and prune any dead stuff. We both have shot a few bow deer from, and close to, this little orchard over the decades. My partner shot his first bow buck there. Still attractive to deer. But with a little more pruning and grafting, it could definitely be improved. Good topic! -
Think I'll call him PopEye. What a beautiful coat and markings on him though! And it doesn't look like he's missed many meals either.

Nice! A week from tomorrow, I have been invited by an esteemed member here (Dinsdale), to fish for stripers on a charter down near Kingston! Looking forward to catching some!!! And most of all, meeting up with Dan!!!

She is amazing! A bass players best friend for sure!!!

Happy Birthday to each of you fine gentlemen!

Got everything trimmed and mowed yesterday. About an acre and and a half of tall thick grass, with the push mower. Still way too wet for the John Deere. Feeling the burn today though! The cows in the pasture next to me didn't seem to notice. Most importantly, I got the boat up alongside the garage to start getting it ready!

Check out some of the displays from our very own maytom!!!! They are awesome!
-
Yes sir! Heck with the lawn. The boat is top priority!!!!

Two weeks today, since last cut. Gonna attempt to cut the back with a push mower, through the soggy wet spots after work today.. It won't be pretty when done, but it will be cut. The front isn't too bad. A cut and trim will bring that up to snuff. My neighbor is coming over with his tractor and some boards, to help me pull my boat forward to dryer ground. Has never been this wet since I've lived here. Neighbor has been there 40+ years, and has never seen it so wet back there either. His property is slightly uphill from mine. He did thank me for draining his yard!! The smart azz.........

Someone got a nice starter kit at a great price!
