Anyone have a youth hunter in need of turkey woods?
grampy replied to Gencountyzeek's topic in Turkey Hunting
What a wonderful offer! My hat is off to you guys. This is what it's all about folks. -
Federal Premium Nosler BT in 140 gr. Very accurate and consistent. And absolutely lights out, dead right there perfomance on deer! I've shot at least half a dozen different brands of store bought 7mm-08 ammo. This shot the best for me. Easy on the recoil too. Natalie should have no trouble at all shooting these. They are not cheap, but worth every penny. IMO.

Congratulations again JALA RUT !!! An absolutely beautiful buck ! No matter what the numbers add up to.

Still a long way to go my friend. It very well could all play out totally different than what we think now?? The fun part for us, is watching it all play out.....

With the long list of injuries the Yankees have at this time, they are doing ok. Still ahead of the Red Sox! As guys get healthy, and or others step up, The gap will surely widen, to put the Dead Sox to bed early this year.

The dog days of summer are actually my least favorite, especially as I age. Too hot and muggy to really enjoy being outside. Other than being on a lake or in a pool. The other three seasons, I can adjust with clothing to keep comfortable, while doing outside chores and activities.

I need to relocate!!! Do some prospecting out west!!

Wow!!!! Spot on, perfectly done rendition!! Arguably one of the greatest and most recognizable cinematic music pieces ever.

I saw him last night. Super smart guy, with a gamblers attitude, of go big or go home! Could be one of Jeopardy's GOAT??

Happy Birthday sir!

Me Too. I just replace the blades each spring. Just bought a new set for about $20. They work great, as does the washer fluid.

What a great story. It took me deer hunting in April. Dan Infault can do that with his writing, like few others. I have always enjoyed "sneaking up" on bucks. Some of my most memorable hunts have been when I have done this. Not all were successful of course, but all were memorable and exciting. Including the one we did together a couple years ago! Thanks for sharing moog!

In my bracket, I had Virginia going to the championship game but losing to Duke. I still lost in my work bracket. But was glad to see Virginia fight and scrap their way to a National Championship! I too thought it was a very good tournament this year. March is about the only time I follow any basketball. I very rarely watch any NBA. The fight and spirit of the college teams, in this tournament can't be matched by the pro's.

Those downstate guys like to live dangerously on the edge!

Good luck! Sounds much more fun than work!

My condolences Cynthia. They are family members, and just as hard to see them go. She was a pretty girl. RIP little one.

Mint Remington Model 17 Pump Gun offered to me.
grampy replied to Rattler's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Sounds like for years you have pictured yourself owning that shotgun. An extra hundred bucks to complete that picture, would be worth it. Some day when YOU are eighty two, you can give it away to a younger family member, or trusted friend. Who will take care of it and smile, each time it is taken out. Just like you did. The true "value" of something, is in how many smiles it brings the owner. -
Congratulations! Not too much is better than calling some beautiful property, home!!! Those old ford tractors are actually pretty good. Hope you can do an easy fix to get it running again.

I've had an opportunity to meet Bob, I can't wait to do it again! Great guy! With his mentor program, outdoor skills, and willingness to help anyone, he is a rare breed indeed. Is the bridge now over the spot you buried your quad last season moog?

Awesome work Matt. My spirit bird!

We are having a firearms course April 27th.

That is one of the best written hunting pieces I've read in quite some time. Thank you! I'm currently mentoring two young hunters, and have made copies of this to share with them. Also, we are giving a NYS Hunter/Firearms safety course, at the end of this month. I will make sure copies of this, are available to anyone interested, at this, and future courses.

Nothing burns my butt more than looking in the rear view, and seeing the windshield of some idiot tailgating me. Not trying to be sexist, but more often than not, the face in that windshield is that of a young woman. Or some pimple faced kid with his orange 2002 Toyota Corolla, that sounds like a bumble bee, and has the big wing bolted to the rear deck lid. The closer they get the slower I go.......... until they finally get around me.Then we just exchange hand gestures and and continue on our own separate ways.
