  1. Way to go mowin!!! Congratulations!! Great gobbler. Great story, pictures, and hunt too!
  2. Now that the Democrats have the numbers control in NYS, they will pass full inclusion, and take the credit for it. Cuomo has said he would sign the bill, the last couple of years. But the bill always died on the floor, before being voted on. Because one side didn't want the other to take credit for it. This is what I heard from a well connected person in Albany. And the way things are done in Albany, this almost makes sense. With all the petty BS that goes on there. That and NYBH, no longer has as strong a voice as in the past. Yes!!! The very first thing with full inclusion, will be a mandatory Bowhunter Education Course, to hunt with a crossbow. It should have been that way from the start!!! No grandfathering. You will need to have a Bow stamp period. I know we have had hundreds of pages of discussion about crossbow full inclusion on this forum, and I don't care to debate it anymore. ( I'm a long time bowhunter) But since they made crossbow legal a few years ago, for part of the season. It was always a forgone conclusion, that full inclusion was inevitable at some point. I "think" that time has come. Good or bad.
  3. It always brings a smile to my face when I see a youngster pass their Hunter Safety Course. Congrats to your daughter sodfather! So cool, you have a lifelong hunting partner! And we have another young lady added to our ranks. My first gun was a broken stock single shot 22lr given to me from the farmer I worked for. My first REAL gun was a Model 37, 16 gauge Ithaca, that I purchased with money earned working for that farmer. That gun has killed everything from chipmunks to deer. I still have it.
  4. Great story. Great hunt. Great gobbler!! Congratulations!
  5. Haven't cut mine in eight days. The back yard is so wet, I can't get back there without getting stuck or leaving ruts. Grass is getting high too. Could really use some sun and wind at this point. But looks like more rain, just about every day for at least the next week. My yard looks like crapola. And will only be getting worse. Anyone got a few goats or sheep I can borrow?
  6. Makes no difference what talking head they prop up tp lead the NRA these days. I will continue to send in my membership dues. Even though I feel the NRA left us New Yorkers hanging over the abyss.
  7. Congratulations on a fine hunt and turkey!!! Way to go!!

Hi......my name is grampy. I'm a shrimpoholic. And seafood addict. I'm going to Maine in a couple weeks to score big.
  9. I hope he's rotting in hell.
  10. Nice mount! Looks great up there!
  11. Congratulations Jay! Way to go my friend! Sounds like an exciting hunt this morning for you! You sent it!!!! Details on the gobbler please.
  12. If you look closely to the right of the cougar, hiding in the brush of the hedgerow, is a Sasquatch. Plain as day! Can't you all see it???
  13. I haven't been qualified to be a virgin camper since the summer of 73.
  14. Got a bird feeder out for most of the year, with the usual birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and mice visiting. The hawks and and owls use it as a buffet table.
  15. Pretty cool! I'm always looking at the weather for one reason or another. My window thermometer STB and blew off a couple wind storms back. This will be a nice replacement. For $45 think I'll stop by the local TS and pick one up for myself. Thanks Eddie.
  16. I've been know to do so. Yes. Especially if good barbeque is involved!
  17. My area is in a 1 to 3 range. Makes sense, as a three year old buck here is usually just over 100 inches. But now and then we may get one bigger. I'm very fortunate to have the acres we have to hunt. And have hunted here since I was a kid. So it's home. Makes a big buck that much more special here.
  18. Oh man, that's awesome!!! You are going to have lots of fun with that beauty. Brian is definitely the go to trad guy! He's not too shabby when it comes to compounds either. Keep us posted on your progress. Good luck!
  19. Not scheduling any paying gigs this summer. Way too much going on. And does anyone really want to listen to a 62 year old guy play and sing??? Likely not too much anymore I suppose. I did have my time though!!! For many years. But I'm still willing to travel the campfire circuit!!! A beer or two, will get you an old guy playing old songs, and a laugh or two.
  20. Awesome work as always Matt!! I think, right before I retire, I will be a middle man for you carvings!!! Will come with a big truck. Pay you your asking price....and a little more. Then take em all downstate, and sell em for three times what I paid!!!! In no time, I will have the money for that hundred acre spread in NC!!!! Will be sure to have a guest house waiting for you too, anytime you come on down for a visit! With multiple saws and logs, just outside the door.......of course.
  21. Hunting in Mendon, it should be required by law!!!! ......lol I carried a few home from there in the plastic bag my camo was in. There does seem to be an 'uptick'.....(see what I did there) in ticks this year, everywhere I've been in the woods this spring. Use the Sawyers boys and girls!!!! It really does help to keep the crawly bastids off you!!! Nothing is 100% though. So a shower and thorough check is always a good idea after leaving the woods. Lyme is no joke. Protect yourselves.
