  1. I'll be out there real soon flinging arrows ! The fun is back big time, with my new to me Obsession Phoenix bow.
  2. All I can say is WOW!!!!! Some great early buck pic's! I'd have a warm and fuzzy feeling, if I saw that kind of potential this early on our land.
  3. He really did Jay. I have never been a Red Sox fan. But have always respected David Ortiz as a player and person. He single handedly put my Yankees to bed on many occasions! Still, I always enjoyed watching him play.
  4. Get well soon Big Papi. He was shot in the Dominican Republic. Expected to be ok.
  5. No doubt that was a great time! Good crew right there! Here's to you guy's!!!
  6. I have that same burner! Have had it for years.
  7. Looks to be in really nice shape! Heck,.....the motor alone is worth 4k!! The canvas work looks sweet too. If you are looking to get another boat, this would be a good one. The fish and ski is a great option, for family fun, or a day fishing with your buddy. Best of both worlds. Let us know how ya make out Jerry.
  8. Actually since I was just a pup, there have been stories of big cat sightings amongst the hill town folk. But for more than half a century, I've roamed the ridges, fields, swamps, gullies, nooks, crannies and woods up here and have never seen a clue of one. Even my hunting partners father, who lived his whole life on the land I hunt claimed to have seen one out back, twenty or so years ago. This man was a no BS farmer, who never drank a drop of alcohol, and had no reason to make up a story. And who couldn't tell a lie, if he wanted to. But between his son and I, we have spent countless hours out there, and seen nothing of the sort. Bobcats, yes. We've always had plenty of them. But old Bill said "it damn sure were'nt no bobcat"!!! He would have known. He trapped quite a bit in his younger years. So..........who knows. I'll still only believe it if I see it.
  9. Heading out to get mine done. My backyard was a cow pasture until a few years ago. Never put anything on it or water it. The front, I've played around with a bit. But I'm no landscaper. My wife bought me this little sign years ago.
  10. DEC actually put out a notice on this. Kinda strange. Last year John, I talked to a couple guys who claimed to have seen one not far from where you and I hunted together. Both are respectable, and lifelong outdoorsmen. Both said they felt ridiculous even telling me about it. But were sure of what they saw. (They live about five miles apart, and don't know each other well) I've known both of them for most of my life. And believe they saw "something". Not sure if it was a Mt Lion or not though. I'd have to see one myself to believe it.
  11. Great looking boat!!! You guy's will have a blast fishing out there. I would suggest a transom saver for the motor though.
  12. Might be safer to hunt Grizz. What would be the best firearm for hunting the Wolpertinger?
  13. I agree 100% my friend. I've found for the most part you get back what you put out. My wife and I are always trying to think of a new place to go visit. Geneva sounds like a good place!!!!
  14. Us "bassholes" have already found all the "greatest spots"! The key is to "race" to...... and fish, as many of them as as possible. All while pissing off as many other boaters as possible. Well....except maybe the jet ski's.
  15. Congrats John!!! That is one cool and fast ride!! Hope you don't get a speeding ticket!! ..........................
  16. Happy Birthday!!! Wishing you all the best Bob.
  17. My best pick up was my wife. My worst, was thankfully better than Pygmy's........lmao! I'm still laughing over that one! You are the best Dan.
  18. Very true Andrew. In the video, way before the crash, to his left was a long line of shallow water markers. If he was unfamiliar with that body of water, with all the warning signs, he should have been at just above idle speed. I very rarely go past three quarter throttle anymore 50mph is fast enough. Even when I know the water very well. Most times someone is with me. I'm responsible for getting them back safely. My eyes are always looking for danger out there. Mostly from other boaters. Been on other bass boats doing 80 + mph.......with the guy sometimes looking at his cell phone or graph. Scares the spit out a ya!!! I yell I don't want to die for a effing fish! Slow the eff down and pay attention! Tournaments are the worst for this behavior. The vast majority of the guys are very safe though. But I completely understand why people call us bassholes sometimes. I also understand how much of a rush it is to skip over the water. Like having a hot car, if you got it you'll want to use it.
  19. He let those kids down when they needed him most. If I were him, l could never live with myself, or look in the mirror again.
  20. That thing would just about fit under a Raptor. Love the color combo........
  21. There was a shallow water marker just to the right of the boat, before they were tossed out. They ran aground. Surprised it didn't take off the lower unit. Always need to be aware, and pay attention while running! Things happen fast at speed. At least they were wearing PFDs. My PFD is always hooked into the kill switch via a lanyard, anytime the main motor is running on my bass boat. I've definitely had a couple close calls over the years. And have witnessed a pretty bad wreck. All caused by not paying attention.
  22. Practice Practice Practice......how you will hunt. There is only one way to to that. Lots of Trigger Time on the range. Know your firearm inside and out. If you will be hunting out to 500+ yards, you should absolutely know the way your firearm and ammo combination perform at those ranges. And in different wind and weather conditions. As well as how you perform yourself, at those ranges you will be hunting. There should be little guessing. Four inches either way, can be the difference of recovering, or not recovering a deer. Ask any Deer Search handler.
  23. I've seen my share of those plays when the boys were younger. Seems like once they get to 13 years old, and into Babe Ruth baseball, the skill of players goes way up from there. But those TBall games sure were fun!
  24. I have two big maples in the front. That looks like my yard! Should have waited to mulch.......love the maples, hate the whirley birds.
  25. Gotta say.........treeguy's range estimation seems to be spot on for him! He has some nice predator kills. Now I'm not questioning you shooting skills Brian..........................just sayin........................grin. Good luck with the sale. Someone will be getting a heck of a good deal on an awesome truck!!!
