  1. Cool video! I've seen them hang up and not cross a two inch deep field puddle after a rain!
  2. Great idea Brian! That's now my plan! The 30-40 lb limbs for the Obsession, not the atlatl......
  3. Looks like no full inclusion again this year. That's ok, nothing else in the NYS Budget makes any sense either. I can still draw my bow (just barely) this year. So I should be good for another season. But I can understand hunters dropping out, or worse yet, breaking the law (using crossbow out of season) Because no one in Albany has the common sense to pass full inclusion. At least for older or impaired hunters. We all age.... 20 years ago I thought I'd still be pulling 70lbs at my current age. I'm struggling to pull 50lbs now. Looks like I'll have a hard decision to make, in the not so distant future. I know this topic has been argued to death! And I do look at, and understand the arguments for both sides, being a bowhunter for 40+ years. But hunter numbers are dropping, big time. Crossbows could keep some of them in the woods, where they'd rather be.
  4. "I got an ideer!" "Put this on and hold my beer!"................................
  5. Look into the mountains of western North Carolina. Top notch hunting and fishing opportunities, plenty of public land, low taxes, no Safe Act, cool summer breezes, just a bit of snow in the winter but green grass and flowers by march. I'll meet you there in just a few short years. Though I do love NY, I hate what Dictator Cuomo and his merry band of downstate snowflakes have done to it. I honestly can't afford to retire here.

    2018 ADK Buck

Awesome buck and mount!! And perfect placement, leaves room for this years trophy!! Very well thought out sir.
  7. I have seen one many years ago on our hunting property. All black except for a white tip on it's tail. Very much like the one airdale posted. Which is very cool. The only other black, redd foxx I recall was on Sanford And Son, again, many years ago! He was pretty cool too!
  8. Love it! Always a treat to see what you come up with, from a chunk of firewood! I had a pooch once, that would sit like that all the time. She was a beagle, and lived to be 13. Was the best rabbit dog I ever had.
  9. Only the true artist thinks this way Matt. The true artist, does what they do, even if there is no money involved. The true artist, creates form the heart and soul. The true "value" is gained from what others see and feel, from what the true artist creates. You my friend, are the definition of the true artist. I have a few of your creations. They are among my most prized possessions. Not only because they look cool (which they do). But because they were made by YOU!! A true artist, and friend, who's spirit lies within each and every creation.
  10. I tried to warn ya about working on your boat and putting away the snow blower!!!! Hopefully all that white stuff will be melted by the end of the week. Ma Nature sure did play a cruel April Fools on ya Rob.
  11. That will make the perfect first hunting rifle for her!
  12. Happy Birthday Biz! All the best to ya buddy. Your grandfather looks great! Hope he took it easy on you at the links.
  13. Thanks so much! My nephew loves it! He shot it a few times when we got back to my place. Great deal, and a very nice bow, for his first one. I'll be his mentor, and look forward to bringing another bow hunter into our ranks this season. Was so nice to meet you and your wife. Always cool to meet another member. I look forward to meeting up with you again! For a local GTG, or just some fun shooting!
  14. Got a foot of snow last weekend, at the farm property in the Albany hilltowns. Most of it is gone already. No snow at all here in Altamont, down here below the hill. Just got back from up on the hill. Temps in the 30s now, and falling fast! Big difference since yesterday, when it was so nice and near 70. But that's early spring for ya!
  15. So happy John made it out ok. Huge respect for what you guys do.

    Pfds/lifejackets

When my grandsons were little, I picked up the small vest type PFD's for them. Though the orange over the neck ones are better than nothing, they are not as good as the vest type. The vest type can be snugged up much better with the side and front adjustments. And are much more comfortable too. Walmart should have some. I found mine at BPS. I gave them away when the boys out grew them. Or I would have gladly sent them to you Dom.
  17. Was wondering where ya were, and what you were up to? Shoulda known you were just creating more greatness! Looks awesome buddy!
  18. Bonnie says the same thing!!......lol Says they creep her out, cause the eyes seem to follow her. So after we moved off "the hill", my mounts were relegated to the basement, instead of the living room wall. Fine with me, all my other hunting stuff is down there. Got some euro mounts upstairs in my reading room. They creep her out too, but I draw the line there. I know I don't have room for a 400 to 500 inch stag though! But a 150 inch whitetail would fit very nicely!!!! Again, this sounds like the trip of a lifetime!!! Hope to see you pull it off!!
  19. Looks like an epic bucket list hunt! Moog, you will need to expand your trophy room for that Red Stag mount!!! Best of luck!! Hope you guys can do it!!
  20. Absolutely nothing wrong with legally shooting young bucks. Over the years I've shot a good number of them. And proud of every one of em too! At this stage of my hunting career, I "choose" to hunt bucks with a little more age on them for the added challenge. But in no way does that mean I'll "never" shoot another young one! Depends on the circumstances? It is very important to me, to not lose sight of why I hunt. And not be caught up in the quest to shoot older bucks, and lose sight of the many reasons I enjoy being out there! Shoot What You Like...........Like What You Shoot. Pretty simple recipe for deer hunting enjoyment. No one size fits all. No hunter should ever question, what another hunter decides to shoot! And no hunter should ever feel diminished by what they "choose" to shoot. It's all hunting. And it's all good my friends.
  21. Happy Birthday WNYBuckhunter!!! Happy Birthday Steve D!!! Happy Birthday Savagehunter!!! Here's to all three of you enjoying all the good stuff surely coming your way today!!!
