Remington 7600 35 Whelen Carbine
grampy replied to Savagehunter's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
I agree 100%. Savagehunter is a great guy. -
Not if Biz gets there first! He's such a charmer that Tommy.......
-
Makes no difference to me how many stores are open or closed, I still won't spend a penny there! Even if they have a "SALE"!! Since they decided to join the gun control lobby, I decided they didn't want my business.

How would you rate yourself as a turkey caller ?
grampy replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in Turkey Hunting
Turkeys laugh out loud at my calling. -
I need to get the vaccination. Can even get it at our local pharmacy now. My luck I'd get shingles during deer season! Have had a couple friends get it and it was no joke.
-
I too have a couple of scopes in my cabinet with no gun to put them on......yet. Otherwise, this would be a great one to jump on! By the way, as you know, I ended up with one of those Zeiss Conquest scopes you bought. It is by far the best glass I have, and I have some other nice Leupold and Nikon glass.

Hunting's Infighting & Fewer Hunters will end all hunting
grampy replied to Rattler's topic in General Chit Chat
The obvious reason for so much infighting is we "all" think we are doing it the "right" way. -
Holy Crap! What a beautiful buck and mount! Congratulations again my friend.
-
Nikon, has some good glass for not alot of money.

I feel I'd have an insatiable urge to be scratched behind the ear, and lift my leg to pee, if I ever ate that. You are what you eat. Right?
-
Congratulations to your daughter John. Quite an accomplishment for a 13 year old!
-
Those old guns are always something special. I find myself wishing they could speak to me, and tell me the stories from long ago. This one is a beauty Storm.

It looks like Natalie is doing awesome! So cool she enjoys shooting and the outdoors stuff! You have have a life long hunting partner, and she has the best mentor! Priceless! I thought that spot looked real familiar. Great memories from there!
-
Great late winter pic's! And the bucks look to still be in nice shape. You have good reason to look forward to this fall! That first one is a real stud! Crazy how they are still holding antlers this late.
-
Could be otter. Most likely a muskrat. Hard to tell from the pic's.

I work to make my boss look good. When he looks good, I look good. And as long as he looks good, he leaves me alone to do my job. I rarely see him anymore. Except to give each other pep talks. Working in a public school district, there are many times I have to bite my tongue and walk away though.

But you are, after all from Dicksville ! Is that anywhere near Ballston???............ I do agree to your post Belo. As much as I'd like to at times, I can't just say anything I want, at anytime, anywhere, without some repercussions. Even if it is a Constitutional Right. Common sense and free speech should go together. Just because you have a Right, doesn't mean you should use it foolishly. Some understand this better than others. And please don't get me wrong, I'm all for exercising our Rights. But I believe the US Constitution, was written with a lot of common sense. And best applied for everyone when using some. Sadly, too many have lost sight of this. And just spout useless garbage, that few listen to.

I play better with left handed shoes. Even though I'm a righty. It helps to make up for all the other skills I lack in my game.

I'm on board with this too. Shoot what you like, like what you shoot. No hunter should ever be shamed for shooting a legal deer. Even a BB or doe fawn, if that is what the hunter chooses to shoot. It's all good. It's all hunting. And who among us has never made a mistake or a bad shot? Anytime someone does either or, and asks for advice, after the fact. We should all do what we can to help, not ostresize and shame a fellow hunter. They surely feel bad enough as it is. No one will benefit from the mistake at this point, if no one helps. Most 'good' hunters, can and will learn more from their mistakes, than their successes. I know I do. On an open forum, there will be many differing points of view. Some will contribute much, some will contribute nothing at all. It is up to each one of us to either take in, or throw out certain posts, and then just move along. Not always going to agree with everything, and everyone, all the time. This will make it much more enjoyable. I have learned much from some that I disagreed with!! It made me look at another point of view. What I dislike most are the trolls, who only post for the attention they receive. Who add nothing to the group and clutter up topics of interest, with meaningless nonsense. Some will even seek negative attention just to get a response, because the response is still attention. This is the type I choose to ignore most of all. All just my opinion. Any similarities to members past or present, is totally coincidental.

Yes sir, I know all about that, having lived in St. Augustine for a while. But I'll send you some 70s in July, for some 70s from you next week!!! Be cool if we could pull that off, wouldn't it!!! How's the fishing been down there over the winter??
-
Hey......send some of that up this way !
-
If you make a kill, with which one will you have the greatest satisfaction? That's the one to use. For myself, it would be the bow.
-
Yes!!! That will be nice! Clocks jump ahead on Saturday night, so we'll have more daylight at the end of the day. Think we are all ready for spring at this point!

Thanks! What is the date for the Capitol District one? And where is it being held? The WNY one will be hard as my grandson will be celebrating his birthday that weekend. But still a possibility, if no one from out there can make it? Would have to run it by Mrs grampy.
