  1. Always enjoy the Subway Series. Got a couple friends who are Mets fans. Gives us another reason to talk smack! Good naturedly of course.....grin.
  2. Sure deer love weeds and eat a bunch of them this time of year. Not so much come October - November, while hunting. Nothing better than a "green" patch to keep deer interested, and nearby, come hunting season. A 50x100 ft. area will not make a big impact on fawning or take away a major summer food source. But it may just give a hunter an edge in the fall, watching the thicker trails leading to and from that food plot.
  3. I'm no chef, master or otherwise. My wife is the resident master at our home. But I know some others here are really good, and will chime in. The reason for my posting, is to wish your Dad a very Happy Birthday!!!
  4. Knowing what that rifle stands for. Every shot was perfect!
  5. The workmanship and artistry really shine through in this piece. Along with the heart and soul put in to it. Having myself, a few things you have done, I know the joy, the recipient of this work of art will feel, everytime they look at it. Keep at it my friend. Like a fine whiskey, your ideas and talent get better with aging.
  6. I might believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny, but I don't believe that was a free roaming deer. No proof, JMO. A 130 buck, on our properties is a very rare occurrence too. So I'm no BIG buck expert.
  7. The stuff you do with your paws, is amazing!
  8. I'd rather see a "wild" 150 inch ten point. Though this deer is "wild" too, it was born and died inside a fence.
  9. God bless every one of the brave men that fought on D Day. Or any day. Those WW2 guys were our greatest generation.
  10. Should mention, I wouldn't change places with anyone! Had one of my special education kids, ask me to sign his yearbook yesterday. School will be out soon, and so will the boat, grandson and I. Got some tractor meditation after work tonight too!
  11. Between work, home, and the farm, haven't got the cover off my boat yet! But come October, I'll make time. Oh.....and I can always use a couple extra bucks! Always thought when I got a little older, I'd have more money and time. Just the opposite for me.
  12. Rob, wishing you and Miss B, a lifetime of happiness. Sorry to hear of the bad luck. But it never lasts. No doubt your marriage, will far out last the down times, we all face now and then. Any chance you can keep the van a few days longer? Mystic is a cool place. That's where we went after getting hitched. Also, I know a good mechanic in Schenectady, who I'm sure will cut you a deal if you mentioned me. PM me and I'll give you info.
  13. here's to you Bob! Happy Birthday sir! Enjoy all the good stuff coming your way!
  14. Very cool pic's wooly! Can't recall ever seeing little peckerheads in the nest before either. But have run across quite a few peckerheads, doing peckerheaded stuff in the woods.
  15. Hey thanks Rob! All this time, I thought I was the only one who didn't catch anything on Sonar's and Lil' Georges! Good luck! I admire your determination!
  16. The way turkey hunting has gone for me lately, no need for new ammo purchases on my end either! And moog, hope you don't continue to save ammo on coyotes too! With that new fancy rig!! Let Em Rip!
  17. Will be trying a couple acres of sugar beets this year.
  18. Having hunted with moog, I can say he is a big guy, but VERY quiet and nimble in the woods while hunting. I've hunted with much smaller guy's, who sounded and acted like elephants in the woods! But, a little carpet in that good looking blind wouldn't hurt, for sure.
  19. I have two hunting properties, roughly seven miles apart. Have seen bucks from both properties, on the other one. The larger of the two properties is over 500 acres. It has a 50+ acre sanctuary where we never step foot in, and plenty of doe, food, and cover. We always wonder why they would leave, when they have all they need? But they do!!!
  20. What is the cost of On X? Just curious. Will it show all stand sights and cam locations on a property? I've never used a hunting app, but may look in to one.
  21. Kinda glad I didn't make the trip up. Last time I did, was disappointed too.
  22. Surprisingly, they are almost nonexistent here tonight. Usually get chewed up pretty good out here.
  23. Strange for sure. What the heck could it be! Pollen of some kind maybe?
  24. Been in and out since dark. Should have just made a fire. Nice night to look at the stars. Should have bought more beer too.
