  1. My excitement, after watching Shaun White win the gold medal, turned to complete disdain, after seeing the way he dragged and stepped on our flag! Very poor representation of the USA in my opinion!
  2. They are one of the most elusive critters in these parts of the woods. We have a good population of them here. But they are seldom seen, even when spending a lot of time out there. The ones we have taken, have been by chance encounter. So huge props to the guys who can get one in a trap.
  3. Mmmm Mmmm, tail wagging good!
  4. Will need more heat to keep it up! Not for me. I don't even like being twenty feet up a tree!
  5. Yup. The Army is where I got my first formal training too.
  6. It really is timing and trigger control. For me, it's getting the counter clockwise circles as small as possible, then squeezing, not jerking the trigger, at just the right time.
  7. Thanks Rob. I just accept my limitations and work with what I have. To me, getting close as possible, is more than half the fun of bowhunting. Especially from the ground, it does take some planning.
  8. I'm going with coon too. But keep in mind, to always exercise caution when handling ANY dead heads. The possibility of rabies is very real.
  9. Wow! That sure is a nice looking set up! No doubt, it'll bring you years of enjoyment and performance! Next pic, it will be along side a song dog!!!
  10. You still have her big sister in your gun safe! That Bavarian is so cool! Too bad I couldn't figure out a way to make that disappear like Treeguy's light!!!....grin.
  11. Freehand, sitting on a milk crate. 100yards. Sako 85 Classic 270 Zeiss Conqiest 3x9x40. This gun far exceeds my capabilities. Thanks again moog!
  12. With bad shoulders, I can only shoot 1 to 3 arrows a session now. So I always make that first one count. In a two inch circle, regardless of the distance I'm shooting. I may practice out to 60 yards, but limit myself to 30 on a live deer. At 30 yards and closer, I can put the majority of my shots in that two inch circle, with my 18 year old bow. I do try to shoot at least one arrow every other day year round. 90% of the deer I've taken with a bow, have been 20 yards or less. Last year was 8 yards. Most everyone here could out shoot me at the range. So I need to get close!
  13. I bought a pair of Mucks at the start of last season and love them! When the temps really drop later in the season, I'll switch over to the 1200g Rocky"s.
  14. I'm certain, you'll do just fine! The local coyote and fox, should be getting their affairs in order!
  15. You got a fine shooter there moog! And that offhand at 125 is pretty darned good! All of my guns are capable of shooting much better, if it were not me shooting them!.........grin. Would like to see pic's of the new rifle! Will you mount a light for predators?
  16. Seems to me Lawdwaz DID answer the question you asked. And it was YOU, who put more into it than was actually there. Maybe it was YOU, that had more than a couple cocktails. And reading something that was not there? Jeez....lighten up a little.
  17. Really nice looking jigs.
  18. My hunting partner and Il went on our farm property, late this afternoon. Our first set upl I called in a double, just using the flextone rabid rabbit. My buddy dropped his. I rolled mine, but we couldn't find it. 135 yards out. Had sporadic blood for 300 yards. Pretty sure it was a high grazing hit, my bad. Fun hunt though!
  19. I offered to take her to the Johnstown Outdoor show! She just gave me "the look"!
  20. With those high capacity magazines, apparently this guy didn't hear King Cuomo say "ya don't need more than five boolits to kill a dee'ah"!
  21. Beautiful work, it looks just like the one he grew. And that is one awesome buck!
  22. Too bad really. But the writing has been on the wall for some time now.
  23. Best of luck to ya's! Hope to see some pic's! Let the fur fly!
