Crossbow consistency problems - need advice

This is what I use for crossbow too. They fly great and are deadly. -
I will draw now and then, just to keep loose, but never when deer are present. When I draw on a deer I'm expecting to shoot it. I work too hard to be invisible to deer while I'm hunting. Not willing to tip my hand at a non target deer. They do just fine picking me off with their noses and ears, without me giving them a visual too.

This is exactly how my rifles, 7mm/08 and 270, are sighted in. So out to 300 yards just put it center mass, just behind, or on the shoulder, and get the bang flop. No guessing involved.

Could have avoided a bunch of confusion here, if they would have just passed the darn full inclusion law this year!

Welcome, glad to have you join us! If you are anything like your Dad, your contributions here will be valued very much! Best of luck to you this season!

Mostly, I use a one of two old four inch folding Buck knives. And every now and then, a fixed blade Old Timer. All honed razor sharp by me, on an Arkansas whet stone I've used for decades. One of these knives will go to my grandson when he field dresses his first deer this year.

Did you check the bolt retainer spring for proper tension? I found on one of my crossbows, the Barnett, that if the retainer spring is not set properly, it greatly affects accuracy. Just throwing out something else to check. -
First shot tonight from 30 yards. Wanted to make sure all is well before heading out to WNY to hunt with moog this weekend! I'm ready!

Very cool pic's, thanks for sharing!

He looks like the typical three year olds in this part of ENY, 4-H. Very healthy, strong front end, bit of a belly, and better mass than the two year olds. A very, very nice buck! Sending good luck to have you lay hands on him!

Send along a hearty congratulations! And to stop by and visit some time. Good guy!

Pretty sure the stand selection was ok. But bad timing, as the local snowmobile club picked that morning, to rebuild the bridge over the creek just below us. By the time we came out, it was already pushing 60 degrees. So we headed over to the farm property to check cams, move a kadder stand and take a wheeler ride. We had a lot of fun that day, even if he didn't kill a deer. But this is his year! Fall travel baseball and school football are winding down now. That will give him more time to hunt with grampy. And time is all we really need. As far as the hill goes, we are getting plenty of bucks on cam. But most all are still at night Matt. Things are about to change though! They are there!

Was a pretty good season opener! Lots of stuff going on. Hope it keeps up for the remainder of the season.

No deer seen. My grandson is still looking to get his first one, on our next hunt together. No fault of his. As he did awesome! I should have chosen a different spot.

Well lookie, lookie WNY Bowhunter has a birthday

Happy Birthday! Hope you get a big ol' birthday buck as a present! -
Got the grandson up and fed. Getting ready to head out in a few. Hopefully today will be the day for him! Stay tuned............

What about Mike Rossi? He had a lot of enthusiasm for passing a morning dove hunting law. I did agree with him about hunting doves, even though I probably wouldn't do it myself. Unless Lawdwaz gave me some pointers, then maybe I'd go out eith the grandson for some fun shooting and good eats.

I'd fear the deer in your area grow!

FTD doesn't really do it for me like TWD does. Be cool to have Abrahan make the jump, as he was one of my favorites too. Lots of factions going to war. So ya gotta figure someone will jump sides, to make it interesting! Should be a more active season than last year.

I have hunted both my own land and public land. And there is no doubt, the lessons learned on public land made me a better hunter. And congratulations on your public land buck! Way to go!

Oh Yeah!........ And next week this time I'll be heading out to Webster, to hunt with moog and phade!!! Counting down the days! Whoo hoo!

Picking up my 13 year old grandson after work tonight. This time tomorrow, I'm hoping we will be dragging out his first deer! We will hang out tonight, shoot our bows, get his camo and pack ready, and get up at 4 for breakfast! Then head to the best spot I have on two properties. If the deer are moving at all, they will come through there. .....I hope. If it were to be 20 degrees colder, it would almost be a guarantee. So we will see. God I love making memories with him. Hoping to make a special one tomorrow. Wish us luck guys.
