  1. If you do all you can to keep the wind in your face and your scent downwind of where you expect deer. You could kill a deer soaked in a bottle of Tommy Bahama's! Rain or anything else will not "wash" the human scent so that a deer cannot smell you downwind! Sure there are things you can do to reduce the amount of scent that comes off of you. But there is nothing that you can buy or do that will keep a deer from smelling you.
  2. I'll bet he has a green thumb!
  3. That is a BIG NY bear! Very nice!
  4. I'm sure your Grandfather is smiling and nodding approvingly. Beautiful rifle. Best of luck in the deer woods this fall!
  5. Great way to spend the 4th! A little fishing with Dad, some pool time and crank up the grill. You got it going on Biz!
  6. It's a proven scientific fact that the earh cools, and ice packs will extend from the poles. The the earth will warm and the ice packs will recede. Been happening for millions and millions of years here on planet earth. Nothing new to worry about!
  7. Happy Birthday! On your Birthday, wishing you the 4 Fs. Family. Friends. Good Food. And Fireworks!!
  8. Looks great! I'm sure Dad will love it! Nice job.
  9. Welcome! Just pull up a seat and join right in any time!
  10. The Crowne Plaza in Lake Placid is top notch. A bit pricey but well worth it! And you can see Whiteface from your room.
  11. Stand up! Hook up! Check the man to your front! Shuffle to the door!
  12. My fishing boat. I've had a lot of fun and spent many good fishing days on her.
  13. Nice boat !! And one heck of a nice stringer of smallies !!! This was supposed to be in the post above.
  14. Nice rig Dan! Got plans for tomorrow so can't fish that one. But will make one or two Mohawk Masters before the end of the summer. I'll surely stop and say hi. My BIL is second in points after the last event so perhaps I can swing by at weigh in time. Fished six plus hours between locks 9 and 10 yesterday, and fishing was VERY slow. Caught a few dinks with a three eights oz. white willow leaf spinner bait. That was it! Best of luck to you tomorrow!!!!
  15. My rig is an 18 foot, fiberglass pro-style bass boat. Very stable running in rough water and while fishing. No rocking or tipping. And gets me to where I'm going quickly. But there are drawbacks to this set up too. I have seating for only three, but more comfortable fishing with two. So taking out the whole family together, is not going to work out too well. My rig holds 18 gallons of gas and I have to run run the high test 93 octain in my motor. I can and at times do run through a tank of fuel in a days fishing.
  16. Oh boy. Mr. Rossi, have you ever heard of delusions of grandeur? Perhaps you should look it up. And then get yourself some help.
  17. Can you recommend a launch site to get started? Already looking forward to going! Thanks!

    Fishing

Fished the Mohawk between locks 9 and 10 today. I know this stretch very well. Caught a few small fish nothing great at all. Tried a bunch of stuff and just couldn't get them to bite today. Very slow for sure.
  19. The farthest west I have been on the Mohawk is lock 16. But you have given me a geat idea to do just that, and fish the "Old Mohawk"!
  20. Perhaps if Mike Rossi got his head out of his azz and actually READ some of my posts. He would see that in no way, am I an anti hunter. But Mr, Rossi's biggest problem is that he is so absorbed in his own fantasy world and himself. That he has no idea what a REAL HUNTER is!
  21. Heading out solo again in the morning between locks 9 and 10.Got some rain yesterday in the area and got a little more current to work with. Going to try drop shot on the channel breaks and on the tail end of flats.
