  1. Yup, Indian pipe for sure. A plant, not a mushroom.
  2. Just my opinion and don't take offense with me rob. But humbly and graciously take Jeremy's very generous offer and just go hunt! Someday you will have the chance to pay it forward and I know you will and have in the past! He never would have extended the offer if he didn't want you to do otherwise. Just hunters helping hunters. That's why this forum is so awesome! Jeremy K, I'd give you my daily allotment of "likes"if I could, for making such a generous offer to another hunter you don't even know. Way to go man!
  3. Maybe I'm wrong, but it being your dad's last hunting rifle it would be worth more to you then anyone else. But a new gun that you would use as opposed to one you won't is totally understandable too! Good price for a solid rifle.
  4. Nice! The buck in the first pic is awesome! Best of luck to make him yours this season! You must be doing something right on that property!
  5. There are a few Drahthaar's in Deer Search. And by all accounts they are excellent blood trackers! The tracking license is now $50, when I first got mine it was $75. So even in NYS once in a blue moon, a fee goes down! If Schatz is doing good on mock lines she will do ok on the real thing. Even if you take her on a short track when you have already found the deer it is valuable experience for her! Even go so far as drag the deer out and leave it. Then take her to where the deer was shot and let her "track" until she "finds" the deer. Believe me it won't take her long to catch on! Best of luck !
  6. Very interesting concept wooly. I hope I never get so blind that I can't learn from others. We have both deer and coyotes on the properties I hunt. It never came to me to combine the two. But I'm going to give it a try! If it works, I'll be sure to post the results and give you due credit. Thanks for sharing! You have a great woods sense!
  7. I think I'm your long lost son! Take me hunting Dad!
  8. Too bad your son isn't a little older. The Yankee's could really use him now! Nice pic's!!!
  9. Still haven't heard anything. I have the receipt from the money order I sent. Any help from admin would be appreciated. Been almost four months.
  10. I wouldn't let him get a year older. Best of luck!!!!
  11. This is an absolute dream rifle!!! It is a steal for the asking price! If only I could afford it right now, it would be on it's way to me.
  12. I'd say you got your exercise for the day! Very cool experience!
  13. Wow! Looks like a great spot for any part of the season! Nice pic's and bucks!
  14. Reel nice combo!!! Before you know it, next, she will be slinging a baitcaster like nothing!
  15. Try cutting it up and put it in your Corona or Margarita!.........
  16. I used the mechanical Slick Tricks on my crossbow last year with outstanding results. On my compound I've used fixed blade NAP Thunderheads for a few years with no problems at all. Buckmaster 7600 gave great advice. Find something that shoots well, from your bow, that you have confidence in and you will be OK. Most all of today's broadheads will kill deer when properly placed.
  17. Pretty certain it's a raccoon. Cool pic! Lots going on in it!

    Gulp!

If you PM me your address, I'll be happy to put together a "bass package" of stuff for your son. I have a bunch and I'm always willing to share with a kid.

moog, start with the shaky worm in black or green pumpkin to start. They can be fished a number of ways. On a 1/8 to 1/4 oz jig head. Texas rig, with or without weight in the weeds, wacky rig em and throw them around cover and hold on!! The minnow works well too but do the worm first.
