  1. Savage Axis in 7mm-08 with Leupold VX-1 3x9x40 shooting 140gr. Federal Premium Nosler BT Backup Ithica Deerslayer 2 with Leupold 1x4 shooting 2 3/4 inch Remington Accu Tip Copper sabots. Both get the job done with dead right there shots. When I do my part.
  2. Also be sure to have it tipped back enough to drain the water from condensation. Otherwise the fan spins in a puddle of water wich can cause other problems. I've had a few AC problems over the years too!
  3. Don't want to sound dumb but could the unit be freezing up? I've had them freeze and spit out a kind of icy mist along with a smell. Just turned the unit to fan and let it de-ice for awhile and then was fine. Not sure that is your problem though.
  4. Here kitty kitty..........lol
  5. I'd just use it to replace an old Simmons that is on there now. That still shoots fine. Hmmmmmmm.
  6. You get first choice for your daughters gun. If you don't go for it then perhaps I may. It is a good deal! But I don't "really" need it.
  7. Got home and upgraded tap a talk and went through google chrome to access the forum and all is perfect on the tablet now! I'm liking it!
  8. This would be a nice addition to my 10-22. Hmmmmm......
  9. Beautiful country out your way! Glad to have you stop by. I'm sure you have some good elk and mule deer stories!

    Gulp!

Oh yeah! Been using the Gulp stuff for a few years now and it works great. Been using the white and chartreuse swim bait with good success lately. For Mohawk River smallmouth.
  11. Man....I can almost smell that cooking from here!
  12. Will they work on a crossbow? This thread has got me thinking! Never knew about the knockoffs until reading about them here.
  13. I would tell my grandsons to look out for sharks while swimming in our local lake, when they were younger. Even then they would roll their eyes and give me that "really....grampy" look. I get that a lot.........
  14. The last two weeks we have been getting a good gully washer every three days or so. Had one on Saturday and have them in the forecast for this afternoon too. Good for the crops and critters!
  15. He never got back to me. Too bad, I could, perhaps have drummed up some business for him. Especially if his baits worked well. I am a fishing bait junkie! And have bought lots of baits that appealed more to me than to the fish! But every now and then, I hit on something that works amazing!
  16. I'll try when I get home from work. It's fine from the work computer. Much better from here. So it must be something with my Samsung tablet? Although it didn't have a problem until after the upgrade.
  17. On my tablet, when I click on a topic, the threads are spelled out vertically instead of horizontally. Very difficult to read anything spelled out vertically.
  18. Happy Anniversary John! I'd say you've had your hands full the last couple days. Thanks for keeping the site up and running. It will only get better from here.
  19. What a beautiful buck! How many days till you can hunt him? Hope to see you in a picture, with a big smile on your face, holding on to Big Boy!...........the deer.......lol
  20. You know, I could use a good net man!.....lol. I'd say it was a good day on the water! Looks like your daughter is "hooked" on fishing! Good job Dad! I'm thinking you can now stop "letting" her catch all the fish!
  21. Yup, sounds familiar. Here is just one of the deals that cause us to give everyone the boot. A friend of a friend, who I barely knew, climbed up in one of my ladder stands without asking and shoots at a doe. I was hunting another stand nearby and see the doe run by me out of range. I could see she was hurt bad. So I climb down to see a good blood trail and this jerk walking out to his truck! I called to him and said did you shoot? He said yeah, but I missed! Never even went to check! I told him in a not so nice way that his doe laid dead less than 100 yards from where he shot and to turn the hell around! Then he gets pissy with me! Just one of too many stories. Never again!
  22. Like most things, a lot has changed since the 60s and 70s. We still have respect and consideration with the neighboring farms. But anyone who trespasses on our farm, shows no respect at all for the hard work we have put in and the money spent over the years. We did have a time when we welcomed hunters but we were taken advantage of and it all got out of hand to the point where we dId not enjoy hunting our own land! So we became dicks and gave everyone the boot. So now it's just my buddy and I along with VERY close family and friends. No exceptions! We have no problem saying no, and have a become good at being dicks because we had to.
  23. That ones a bit on the small side, tough to get a hook on em. But hope you and your daughter have a great fishing day! Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope she out fishes you again.
  24. I'm seeing bears more every year in my area. Even had a very close encounter with one last bow season. It sure does get the blood pressure up when they are close! I haven't taken a shot yet, but who knows, maybe this year! I will have to have a plan in place before taking that shot.
  25. So far I'm just feeling my way through the new digs here. Us AARP people usually don't take to big changes very well. But I do like this place and change can be good too! I'm certain that any and all bugs will be worked out in time by our competent hosts. So giving burmjohn and the guy's a thumbs up! Now, how do I find my way to........
