Mrs. grampy is going to "love" this!!! Will extend her 'Whitetail Widow' time....... -
Nice way to spend an evening! Nice fish and pictures too!

Absolutely beautiful taxi work and mount!!!

String on nose tip. Thumb tip from release hand on jaw below ear. That is what works for me. But I can see where this could be a help with someone changing anchor point.

You can legally go after them on October 1st.

About 15 years ago, we had an outbreak of EHD down off the hill from us in Voorheesville. Killed quite a few deer as I remember. I never saw any dead deer on our property. But for a few years after, we had noticeably less deer around.

So sorry to hear stuff like this! I hope the scumbags are caught and their balls rot off in prison!!!

I admit that Trump is an egotistical blowhard. But given the choices this election, there is no question who will get my vote. Trump. Do you really think that voting for the socialist left is better for guys like us? If so, how? -
Beautiful work for a nice relax spot. With the property to match!

If I ever need to sight in another 12g, I'll be sure to give you a call!!!
-
No problem. The only one you need to please is you! If it will make you happy to go from auto to pump, and you can do it, Go For It! I also have an older 35yo or so, Savage 12g smoothbore pump that has a short barrel. Flip up rear sight. I used it for home defence. And its' killed a few deer too. Might be able to make up some kind of trade for the auto?
-
I see your point. But, the only hitch is that you will likely just get a low ball offer for your auto loader on a trade in? Kinda defeats the purpose with low funds. And believe me, I understand low funds!!! If you have your heart set on using a good quality pump for deer this season, I have one you can borrow. An Ithaca Deerslayer 2, with a 1x4 Leupold, that has put down a pile of deer in the past. Will hit where you aim out to 100 yards. I even have ammo for it, that it loves! And she is a real looker too, with beautifully grained walnut.

Nice pictures, plot, and bucks Brad.

Or the 270 Win. Bang - Flop. But the 7mm-08 may just be the perfect whitetail round. 30-06 or 308??? Flip a coin.

I don't believe they can cognitively put it all together like we humans do. But I have observed deer, especially mature bucks, skirting areas where they either were spooked. Or had sensed danger in the recent past. But I don't know if that individual deer would carry that year to year? Perhaps some may? Most not, would be my guess.

I won't do it again. Used to have a deer parade from this certain spot, most every time I hunted it. This one old matriarch doe would bust me from time to time. So one time during early bow, she did her usual foot stomping, head bobbing, and blowing thing. But she made the mistake of coming closer for a better look, and turned broadside at 18 yards. She tipped over 30 yards from that spot. But.....It took years, before the deer parade resumed in that spot again. After taking her out. The next doe to lead the parade, chose a different route between bedding and feeding.

I have cams out in a couple spots, that I don't expect to get buck pictures until early to mid October. Getting plenty of doe pictures now. This is in proven buck kill spots. But not one buck picture at this time. -
