  1. I too used the NAP Spitfires from my Centerterpoint 370 and they flew great! This year I picked up some TenPoint Centerpunch heads. Supposed to be just like the Spitfires. They do look the same. Will give them a try hopefully this weekend.
  2. Not as much as we used to years ago. But we picked up another used tractor this past spring, and did more this year. Also we are up to 53 head of beef cattle.
  3. Potential...and then some!!! Great buck !
  4. Our winter wheat, oats and turnips should be ok. Not a hard prolonged freeze. Will get out and start chopping some corn tomorrow. Only have about twenty acres of corn. And five acres will be left standing for the critters.
  5. First thing I'd wish for would be..... to be half the deer hunter Lawdwaz is!!! Screw the dang glitter!!!
  6. If team two wins, Jerky can keep the trophy. I don't think any of us would enjoy it more than him. I think we can come up something more suited to deer hunting for our guys.
  7. No Thanks.......................
  8. Yankee's are a streaky team this year. Super HOT, and then frigid COLD. No real in between with this team. Hopefully they will be HOT when it counts? That remains to be seen. Let's Go Yankee's!!!!
  9. Sorry to hear you got hurt. Hope you feel better soon Cynthia.
  10. I would love to have a fox mount! Your coyote mount looks awesome!
  11. It may grow some? But won't fully mature before the first frost. Keep it for next year.
  12. Years ago, (I first picked up a bow in 1978) I would shoot at least 100 arrows a week, sometimes many more throughout the summer and into the fall. And I shot ok, perhaps a little bit better than most of my friends that shot. Never was, or will be a great target shooter. These days, since both of my shoulders are not so good, I mostly shoot from 3 to 6 arrows a session. Two, maybe three days a week, since mid July. And perhaps once every other week or so, during winter in my basement. It's all about quality now not quantity. Really concentrating on that first shot. Holding form, and going down the pre-shot checklist. I feel I am still almost as good a shot now, with less arrows shot, as I was when I shot more. Was out last night in the backyard with a good breeze blowing right to left. Shot only three single arrows, with a broadhead at 10 - 20 and 30 yards. All three were in a two inch bull. That does not always happen! But it shows me I should be ok with this setup, and my shooting come October. My goal this year is to kill one more buck with my bow. Before my shoulders won't allow me to shoot anymore.
  13. Happy Birthday doebuck1234!!! Happy Birthday blackbeltbill!!!!
  14. Never saw a deer even look down at a black walnut. Used to have a few BW trees, right in back of the house along the woodline.

    FREE MOUNTS

Being from your grandfather, why not keep them for yourself Biz?
  16. Welcome! Nice to have you join us! Your Dad, no doubt will be close by while you are out hunting. Wearing that big smile that you know so well.
  17. My grandson just got one in the mail on Friday. This is his first year as a regular hunter, (no longer a Jr hunter) as he's only 16. So I assume that they just draw randomly, to do the survey. I have never had one sent to me.
  18. It's not spread from deer to deer. Infection is from a midge bite.
  19. Good luck! Hope you get a Thumbs Up from the doc!!! (pun intended) I've been through a few of these. No big deal really. MUCH better than what could happen if someone refuses to have it done, for silly reasons. Do it for yourself. Do it for your family.
  20. Welcome!!! Good to have you join us! There are many here, that will be happy to help with any questions you may have. I'm from the Capital District area, so no help for LI hunting. But if you ever get up my way, give me a shout!
  21. I get it. At 63 years old, by the time the season is over now, I've about had enough. Of the early morning alarms, cold sits, and less deer sightings. But I just can't stop, until the law says it's time to, if I still have a tag! A couple years ago, I hobbled out shortly after bladder surgery! I just couldn't NOT go!!! If this passes, I will probably hunt a day or two, if I still have tags left? But this older version of myself may protest a little.
  22. Thank you for the pictures and information. This is a hard pill to swallow for us hunters. The deer population will be effected for quite some time in this area. EHD could conceivably show up anywhere in NYS. That is most concerning. As there is nothing that can be done.
  23. Lost my grandmother on that day, through natural causes. Sad day for America. I still have a bitterness from that day. And remember it like yesterday. Never Forget..............
