    Used tranny's has to be $1.5-2k? Labor on top of that unless you can do it yourself. Did the Xterra have a CVT transmission? if so I definitely wouldn't go the used.

    Friend of mine does the same thing. Every yr it's one of the nicest looking trees we see.... Except for ours of course. Lol

    Getting ours tomorrow. Usually find 3-4 we like , then it's back and forth several times looking at each one before the saw comes out. Last yrs tree was probably 7 across at the base. Had a hell of a time getting it through a 36" door, lol.

    If one has no privet property to hunt, and they wanted to hunt, then are they not forced to hunt public lands?

    I never said, or implied, those that hunt public lands are poor. Not sure how you got that from my post.

    Having hunting privet land all my life, if I was forced to only hunt state lands, I would definitely stop hunting. Fortunately, I own just enough land that I can shoot a deer or two each yr. I really need to commended those that only have public lands to hunt. I couldn't do it. Kudos to those that do.

    Feeding and bedding. Find those and set up between them. Always liked swamps myself. Killed a lot a bucks in them. Bitch getting em out of there, but worth it.

    I too enjoy Thanksgiving. I do most of the days cooking, so no hunting for me, and wouldn't have it any other way.

    Had a buddy put a buck in the trunk of a little Suzuki. Hr or so later he goes to get it out, and the thing stiffened up and he had one hell of a time getting him out of there. Lol. Lady did good getting her loaded up.

    How about lower Columbia county? Not sure how far from NYC it is though. I know 4t has a boat load of DMP tags, and have a good chance of getting two.

    WTH. Small one horn spike within 6 yrds of me ( ground hunting). Circled and caught my sent, but came back 4 times to do the same thing. 45 minutes of him staring at me from point blank range, smells me, runs 20 yrds and does it all over again, and again. Lol.

    I use the Same loads as TF in my pro hunter. My Ruger M77 .270 likes Remington 150 soft point Cor lok.

    I agree. Been cutting our own deer up for almost 30 yrs. Got multiple grinders, cuber, patty machine, and chamber vac sealer. Doesn't take me long from hanging to freezer. I was just curious what the going rate was in other areas.

    What's the going rate for cutting up a deer in your areas? Local guy here in Columbia/Rensselaer area gets $100. Would get really expensive fast with multiple deer taken.

    Well... Yes. 2 yrs ago. Mid day 30 yrds from my truck. Pulling into a client's property and it was standing in his driveway.

    No doe for me the first weekend. Spike "may" get a pass if it at first light Saturday morning. Usually fill most of my unused bow tags and DMP tags during ML.
