  1. Fooled by TV ads with a doorbell? There's a couple commercials that everytime they air, my mutts think someone is at the door and go ballistic. Drives me nuts.
  2. First post and just joined and FYI this is a 2yr old thread. Welcome...
  3. I might hold off on the xbow for a little bit. Shoulder is feeling ok, but every leaf cleanup I get done, it gets a little worse. If it gets too painful to pull the bow back, the xbow is sighted in and ready to be deployed.
  4. Funny story. Property that I used to hunt, the landowner shot what he thought was a doe(ML season) during a snowstorm. Turns out it's a 4.5” spike. He grabbed two rocks from the stonewall and busted the antlers off. He said it took a lot more effort than he expected. Wish he still owned that property. Was a incredible place to hunt.
  5. The light switch has been flipped. Seen nothing decent yesterday or this morning. Had two shooters come in from different directions after a doe. They locked horns for a few seconds before chasing after her. Unfortunately, not in my direction.
  6. He has no clue. Definitely can't use rifle in late season. And no you can't use bow/ml tags during rifle.
  7. Thanks. Not sure what I did wrong..
  8. @phade. I need a antenna for the original reveal. Are the generic ones I'm seeing on Amazon any good? Or if you have any, I'd be happy to buy from you.
  9. 4 toms and a boat load of squirrels so far. Overlooking a ridge between two bedding areas. Hopefully bucks will start using it during the daylight.
  10. Dogs got me up early, so I figured why not. Clear and light wind at the house. Few miles away as I'm walking in, rain. Now I'm wet, definitely under dressed, and the wind isn't light.
  11. Congrats on the spike. Always fun on the ground. That busted main beam looks fresh to me.
  12. I so want to get up tomorrow and hunt. But it's going to be a downpour. Wishing I had a ground blind in the area my nephew's and I put up a ladder stand. 7 scrapes in sight of the stand.
  13. My nephew Dom with his first bow kill. Was a emotional day. Dom was determined to get his first bow kill with his dad's bow. My nephew Adam, Dom's and Kayden's dad, passed in 2011 in a house fire. So proud of theses boys, and I know there dad is too.
  14. Congrats on the retirement. I can't blame you at all.
  15. I guess there leaving it up to the DEC officers, lol. I live a couple miles from the local officer. I'll stop by in the next day or two and ask him.
  16. But it doesn't state anywhere that safety orange is required during the archery season while using a crossbow.
  17. I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully someone will clarify shortly.
  18. Beautiful morning. Watched through the binos, my nephew Dom arrow his first deer this morning. Seen blood immediately on the exit side. Only went 80 yrds and plied up. He's pretty sure it's the same spike he missed yesterday out of the same stand.
  19. He's friggin hooked. Going to Field and stream to get more broadheads, lol.
  20. Well, my nephew Dom not only missed a spike, but a doe too. I'm thinking the first yr adrenaline rush has a lot to do with it. Lol. Practicing, he touches arrows at 30 yrds, so I'm going with the shakes...
  21. That's what I told him. And to make sure he's a little closer, lol.
  22. Two nephew's and I are out. Dom was on stand for about 2min when a spike came out in the food plot. His very first shot at a deer with a bow resulted in a miss.
  23. Old Chatham. 4U. This area is mostly fields with small tracks of woods. I live 6 miles away, and bear sightings are fairly common, but it's lots of woods with little to no fields. I'm sure there has been bear on the property before, it's just we've never seen one or any sign over the yrs.
