  1. Shouldve gotten the Denali package and wouldve had the fryer included so you can eat that!
  2. already have new place picked out ! The fence comes down and the elk go in the freezer though!
  3. Any serious fisherman will tell you - need at least a 6ft box. Otherwise how do you fit your fishing poles in it?!
  4. I am certainly low tech and of course everyone has used google maps. But if you arent aware you can create your own maps on there for hunting areas including marking stand locations and drawing in property lines etc. I have them saved for the locations i hunt for planning every year. Its pretty handy. Just go to google maps and click the little options tab and pick "your places" and then "maps". At the bottom of the screen pick "create map" and there you go. Prob most people way farther comp tech savvy than I but this might help some. Put all my hunting spots in this over the winter. Try it out .
  5. still have snow in mine but def looking forward to it! Finished product pic from last fall.
  6. I agree and if they say it costs $20 to assemble also say yes please.
  7. Venison jalapeno sausage and onions and peppers in a wrap.
  8. Thanks. I've been making them in the oven, but I have an electric smoker now so going to try that this season. They look great.
  9. Spent 4 hrs on lease today out walking and figuring for this season. Gonna move a couple of stands next weekend with my hunting buddy. Was nice to be outside. Can sure tell I haven't done this in a while I am whipped. Looking to get all stands set in April so doesn't interfere with fishing and turkey time. Got a friend of mine looking at a new house with 48 acres too. If he gets it might have a new spot this year as well. Enjoy working on the setups and new ground is always fun.
  10. Those look great. What temp did you smoke them at?
  11. Breakfast guilt trip and stare down here too. Lol. I always make an egg for him!
  12. I stayed up but a house around the corner had something going on. Fire trucks etc there for like an hour and a half. Lots of flashing lights but not northern ones to be able to see. But hope all was alright there.
  13. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2005/11/051122183641.htm This was the town of Verona fire hall about 8 minutes from my house. Last I heard no issues from anyone that attended. I did know a couple that attended and they weren't worried about it. Haven't heard anything about it in years. Deer was from a farm I guess and not a wild deer. They shot a bunch of deer in the area to test and all tagged deer in Oneida county in the area had to be taken to Dec site and they took the heads for testing. If you wanted the antlers they would either cut them off or you could get them later. I only had to take a small buck there so never bothered with it. But some people were pissed that had big bucks for sure. It was a pain to take it there and bet prob most didn't even do it.
  14. I live in the town of Verona. No one had any issues. For several years after we had to bring any deer to a DEC station and they took samples etc. No positive tests so they ended having to that.
  15. Article says between 10 and 2. But haven't heard otherwise.
  16. Great buck and mount! Pacing already waiting on mine. Lol
  17. Been the guide for lots of things....turkey, deer and esp fishing. A few years ago when we first got our lease I was setting up my two buddies for the gun opener. We didn't know much about the new land and I had gotten a deer with the bow already in another spot I hunt. So I made plans for the opener of gun and got them setup in spots I thought looked the best. And the day before I thru up a 9ft stand in some thick stuff for me as a last minute spot. And of course I shoot two deer that day. Lol But my one buddy missed a huge buck so I did have him in the right spot. Can't imagine how many times I have guided for fishing. Rowed a boat while the guy in front and the back would cast in Adirondack lakes. Always had a great time.
  18. The night I saw them over Oneida lake we didn't know what it was at first. Then it just kept going thru the sky in green waves and figured it out. Was prob 15 years ago. We fished til like 3am and caught a few eyes as well. Pretty cool.
  19. https://www.localsyr.com/amp/weather/storm-team-headlines/central-new-york-has-a-chance-to-see-northern-lights-saturday-night/1869193886 Saw this one year out walleye fishing of the pier at Lewis point. Was pretty awesome.
  20. now this is a mini pickup - I like this thing!
