Time, and woodsmanship are by far the most important if you want any game. There are several stages of a Hunter from , meat to technique, to trophy to wildlife management, not everyone goes through all phases . Personally I tend to associate with those that have reached the same phase. Just more in common . Though it's immense fun watching others go thru their own journey through trail and error to asking for advice , to wanting to do it all on their own. The only aspect I've never gotten is the hero worship of TV hunting celebrities.

Looks like ice fishing and snowmobiling will become shorter and shorter seasons, liking the milder temps as does my pocketbook paying for heating bills.

Many deer taken early with the extra 1/2 hours for sure, plus I know thousands of bow hunters who were actually legal hunting this year for 1ST time inn their hunting careers.

So have my list started for this year starting with some aspen stand management , and some tsi in a stagnant hard maple woods. Those should be done by March, then onto plot creation , 2 small plots need some minor clearing and lime. Then the big project of a new pond 1/2 acre and a new access road on a 25 ft right of way. Hoping to have them done by June but will be weather and equipment dependent. Have 2 new boxblinds to build this summer as well . What are your plans?

Covid is one of the viruses that cause the common cold. It's not this variety, no would I worry about it as I don't see anyone giving cpr to a deer....

My portable sawmill, making box blinds and other projects are so much cheaper and easier... going to make a covered truss bridge to span creek where I now have a cable bridge, preferably strong enough to let a 4 wheeler over it...

You've never done a drive then ,not lazy it's hard dangerous work.

I think it must be something in your settings / allowed permissions... but I'm far from an expert

Was glad to see the dec reduce perch and panf8sh limits on some lakes, although I feel it's about 5 years late.. It's not the issue of 25 / 50 fish a day that was the issue but in my own opinion it was the individuals that took that limit every day for weeks... it great you have time to fish every day and you enjoy fishing but keep enough for a meal and put rest back.. due to this exorbitant take ( yes I know you give them away) that these new limits affect everyone's legal take. So now that guy / girl that get out once or 2x a season are now greater restricted in their allowable take..... Please think about this when your hard water fishing... unlike hunting you can put the fish back....

Get a lot thru soil and water conservation dept in each county , they sometime have larger trees but are 1st come 1st serve.. get on their mailing list as well as other counties nearby each is different...

Selling a almost 600 acre scout camp in Wyoming co. Cabins , ponds roads throughout plus the rangers house.. if everyone chipped in would make a nice hunting camp

Seems many hunters have one or 2 stands, if you want to hunt undressed deer then you need to wait 3 to 5 days between sits in thos stands. I prefer many stand over a large area, deer pattern us as much as we pattern them ,probably more so. I'll use climbing sticks and hang on over a climber any time. Preset stands or even tree can be found using reflective tacks assuming you use a light to go to your stand.. after 30 years on same property I've given up use of a light and just go in on starlight.
