some high power tranmission lines are owned by the power companys, some of right of ways and a few far sighted owners have leases. sounds like you did the reserch and did it right finding the owners via plat map. go ahead and hunt but remember adjacent landowners might be touchy about shooting into their property

pic is from magazine i don't think its staged, i seen pic of beavers hit by their own tree they were cutting down. i think we a humans think animals we respect are actually smartet than they are rather than just the instinctual creatures that they are.

bobcat ..to push over bigger brush and trees, and pop roots out of ground. push all your brush to it works to your advantage,wind/stand wise. brush hog will cut surface down but it makes it harder to get roots out. ok if you were doing clover corn needs to go 2-3in deep so roots/stumps would be th eproblem

I am looking for a pick-up bed and rear fenders for a 47-64 willys pick-up. I would like to stay in wny if possible but will travel if price is right. needs to be in a restorable condition. Any leads are appreciated. I am not looking for pristine condition as i realise the age of this and the fact that trucks were used back then. my local junkyards have petered out of parts for me...

Looks pretty green in pic soouthern ohio??.. but stranger things have happenedremember the moose strung up by high power lines?, as for jumping a shot, deer hear limbs and trees fall all the time so it might not of done anything but get hit on the neck breaking it. im sure it happens a lot more than we see. can't be everywhere with the camera.

you maybe could get some clover to grow or rye grass, you need to get an idea how much sun it does/will get. 4-5 hrs of sun will do. it might get enough depending on how it is positioned n/s or e/w 20 yards is not that wide so if canopy is growing over it ,if you really want it you may need to trim back a tree or two.

latest ive seen them with horns was april 15th... every deer and area is different

im sure with a little maintance it would work fine. if not even a fixed seat with platform all around would be a good idea.

wellcome to the world of cuddieback. i think you will be happy with this for the purposes you intend to use it. i have other cameras as well and have learned their limitations and use them appropriatly. i haven't found a limitation for my cuddiebacks other than i don't have enought of them.... no really the flash is said to be 50 ft but i find it works best 10 feet closer is about the only thing i can say i found with mine.

A juged barrel is back bored to increase size of bore and then is tapered back down to true size. it allows bird shot to spread out in barrel and then gently reform into a non deforming pattern. it is unsfe to shoot slugs thru a juged barrel as they would tip and blow barrel. they are designed for tight patterns with bird shot and can be found on a lot of custom guns. the barrel is also usually ported. to ease recoil and again tighten patterns. the choke tube is then put in and is usually longer resulting in a longer forceing cone again improving patterns.

i use a little buddy heater, no problems with it, except when bottle is getting low on propane, it will flicker and give off an oder. but thats easily fixed by a new one.

New Yorks Latest Crossbow Legislation News
G-Man replied to sits in trees's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
I have no wishes personally of using a crossbow in archery season, but i see the need for them, from a management position and as a way to get younger and older hunters into the sport. As for the lobbiests that doesnt bother me there are lobbiests for everthing including bow manufatures. As for nybh, they seem to be the selfish ones trying to keep the season to themselves. not the crossbow group. who aren't even asking for their own season. jmo. -
I agree our season is set up so most or all the breeding should be done before it starts. when the weather is bad breeding /nesting is pushed back. I personallly would rather have a tough season an let the population get a good hatch from a warm early spring

this is one of the reasons deer numbers are nit what they used to be
G-Man replied to bubba's topic in General Chit Chat

I shoot an extra full turkey choke jugged barrel 12 gauge and can kill a bird at 65yards , problem is my pattern is 3 1/2 in at 20 yards. when trying to attain extremely long range patterns . a good scope/sight is needed as you pattern will be so tight at close range its like shooting a slug. just an other expense to consider.... As for just sighting in to do it right and actually find what works, you need to shoot all different manufacturs shells, along with legnth 2 3/4 , 3 or 3 1/2. yes it makes a big difference along with size of shot. I have one gun that is a 3 in mag, so i should shoot 3 in mags in it?, pattern was ok not what i expected though, tried 2 3/4 with same size shot #6 and pattern size shrank by almost 30%. Sighting in a true turkey gun is not cheap.... but when you find the right combinition your patterns will be impressive. My opinion is get a different shell from as many buddies as possible to try and see what works best with your gun/choke.

I know a border patrol agent who works the mexican border.. he calls the people he catches "tonks" cause thats the sound his flashlight makes hitting them over the head!!!
-
getting a pattern that tight with a 20 is possible with heavy shot and a good choke(make sure it is for heavy shot.. to tight and it will distort your patterns or blow up your barrel. but you would be shooting a slug at 25 yards.. 35-45 yrds is a much more reasonable distance to try to attain..

Erie County Fairground Sportman Show Info Needed
G-Man replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Yeah i miss the dealer/manufactures booths, got some great deals there over the years. Use to have a lot of group booths( price of booth pushed them out) use to have some great seminiars by top national hunters(the wensels come to mind) turkey calling contests, lots of stuff for kids to do that were inexpensive. 3 d archery, paintball. Use to have lot s of freebees as well. now all it seems is some outfitters, marinias trying t sell boats(i thought that is what the boat show was for) same with atv' dealers, and car dealers... t-shirts?... hard pressed to find some outdoor gear...
