My buddy called me this afternoon while  he was  on the tractor.  He was out brush hogging the local  farm we hunt (his father in law owns the place). He  told me that someone took two of his ladder stands, that he had in place for a couple years. One was a nice double ladder stand.  I have two out there myself and it was too hard to describe to him where they were, for him to  check them for me. I have so much going on that I can't get out there to check on them till Saturday. I'll be wondering and pissed off all week. 

 

God how I hate these thieving little swamp rat, crap stained scum bags !!!!!

Sorry to hear....good  luck.....evenon our home land I chain all stands that aren't nailed to the tree and ladders are the same...why I like built stands....this one took the tractor and two people tp just get it leaning against the tree...pretty much steal proof...but still nailed and chained.....

Agreed, set up a trail cam next to them.  When the bastards get caught, make sure you put their pic in every paper that will accept it.  If there is one thing I hate more than anything else, it is thieves.

While we were out checking stands yesterday, we discovered one hang on gone, and about 30 screw in steps missing, along with a bunch of hoist rope clips cut off. Ass wipes.

we usually remove the bottom few screw in steps every year. don't usually use ladder stands. people suck.

Same thing here.I had one guy that we used to be friends with trespassing so I would take them down and leave them,he would put them right back up again in the same spot!! So I took them down and brought them to work and ran them through the bandsaw a few times so all the pieces fit nicely inside a backpack and brought them back out.I don't have a problem with him anymore!!LOL

We all carry 4 screw in steps in our bags, the bottom 4 dont get left in the tree. Apparently the thieves are doing the same thing.

I think its a competition thing on this property. We will figure out who it is eventually, and they will get booted off of the farm if they currently have permission.

I'm on some new property this season and spending too much money on stand setups and cameras for some douche nozzle to rob me clean.

 

I know a guy that welds his ladder sections together to discourage them walking away. I hunted some town property and replaced the pins at each section with padlocks. They want it...they will need to drag it out 20' long and load it on a trailer.

Nothing worse than walking into a stand that used to be there.

 

I had two cams and a stand stolen at once...I walk in, realized it. I sat for 10 minutes trying to make the best of the situation since it was hunting season. Promptly got up and went home because I was so mad.

 

I feel for you. Stealing a double is ALOT of work. That's some brave d-bag. Most likely it was two people to move that thing.

One worse. last year on opening morning of gun my buddy went into his ladder stand. Got in it and it just didn't feel right. (it was still dark). Got his light out and the stabilizer bracket tot he tree had been cut loose and the long diagonal straps that go fromt eh platform arund the back of the tree and to the ladder had been cut. Some one was out to do harm. so give them a quick look over before you get into any of them.
