It was beyond amazing, tender juicy and delicious. Saurkraut on the side topped it off with strawberry shortcake for desert!

Nice.  I'm going to try to challenge myself this year 2017 to try to go mainly wild game instead of store bought meat.  Hard not to put some pork in the smoker though.

Tonight will be chicken burgers...or Mr B is coming home with custom made chicken and pork sausages...zucchini patties, if you've never had them ,they are awesome...of course roasted acorn squash and white swt. corn from the garden...do I have to say....sliced tomatoes..lol  Seeing, now picking a half bushel every other day.

We're on congdon trail . I saw a bear on my way in,a few hundred yards before the dump ,I quick stopped the car and went back but he was already gone.

How does squirrel taste?


To me it tastes like a mix between like partridge and rabbit.Texture wise is very similar to chicken but a slightly "gamier" taste. It's good if it's cooked properly, but it will dry out and get tough easily. I've always had the best luck cooking it low and slow in liquid.

I forget who post the venison roast recipe 2 roasts , beefy onion soup mix , BBQ sauce , onion , root beer and later a tbs of corn starch. In about 7 hours I'll have plated dishes of BBQ pulled venison roast
