Work in the way of Hunting

Ok .... I'm just whining here but I'm at work and would rather be climbing into my tree stand !   Anyone else being tethered at work besides being in the woods ?

Im still on the verge of being forced in on saturday ,i have monday off to hunt so that would screw things up. Luckily, they can force me in on saturday but can't force me to stay the whole shift ,so i may miss saturday morning .

Up until this September, for the last 12 years, I have worked 2 24 hour shifts a week, with some OT sprinkled in, when I wanted to work it. This year from September 12 through the new year, I have to work 7-3 5 days a week with a 1 hour commute each way. It is killing me. Between work, wife, and kids I barely get out at all and when I do it is for a quick couple of hours in the evening, or a day on the weekend. I hate weekends, too many people. I don't know how you 9-5ers get through life. I did it long ago but certainly don't miss it.

Just started a new job and a new career in August.  I have been so busy I missed the entire bow season for the first time since I started hunting.  I'm hoping to be far enough ahead that I can hunt weekends in gun.

When NOVEMBER arrives, I want to be in the woods every day!!!!  I take a week off for bow and another for gun but it never seems like enough time off from work.

Employers should give hunters hunting Season off its all I'm thinking about while at work anyway

Yep,this Nov. is a hard one , I'll be at work 3 days. Had a nice beard going just shaved it to go back tomorrow.

 since I retired 1/1/2015 this is going to hopefully be the first year I get to go out more then for days and I have a grand daughter just counting the days until sat to go with me and set in the stand she helped me build its fully enclosed and yes it has heat as she is only seven.

I take quite a few vacation days off to hunt in November. But it never seems enough on the days I do work. My body is here, my mind is out there!

I am at work right now....I walked in this morning, I made it two steps in the door and someone asked me what was wrong. I said I am super pissed at the weather. The wind is blowing with 40mph wind gusts and it is suppose to continue all weekend....Until Monday when I will be back at work. Everyday before today I would get up and leave for work....Step out side and there wasn't a breath of wind.....Seems like everytime I can get in the woods the wind is blowing and I am swaying in the tree....I use my vacation time for family so I can't take a week off to just hunt....

If there was a fishing season then I would already have that all off...Life of a teacher. Not that I'm bragging, well maybe a little.

I went from 5 weeks off a year at my last job to a week off (spoiled autoworkers)

I should have listened to my mother and became a teacher. I do work outside all year though my office is a 15 acre wooded camp

. Not sure if you were aware, but they have the capability of being shut off. My new vcamp, there is no reception there and I love it

I think they do close school during the owning week in West Virginia. Can't get any teachers or bus drivers (let alone kids) to come to school. Their trade off is not having a February break like we do.

I got laid off last week, on one hand ****** time of year but on the other hand pretty good timing I guess. Hasn't paid off yet, but hopefully soon.

Spooked a bug buck on our way in Sunday morning at around 5:40. Saw nothing all day. Now Im sitting at work wishing I was sitting in the woods. Cant shake the fact that we missed a big buck. As he trotted off he kept stopping. Snorting and stompin the ground. Amazing how loud they can be.
