Our fingers were cramped for days,lol. Now it just falls off the bone, stir with a wooden spoon and it falls apart. Used to put in oven for awhile in between the smoker and crockpot. I've skipped this stage lately. Trimmed extra fat off shoulder/butt, used coffee based rub, throw on smoker for about 4 hours and then crockpot. Easy Peasy.
